When I hear this song I think about this girl that I liked, that I fell in love with. She was so amazing to me. She still is..... She went away to a distant place, i still think about her. I wish I could see her..... Just one more time.
@gibkid I noticed the same thing. I wondered if the CD has been remastered between 1987 and now. More likely though, computer speakers are so different than stereo speakers, thus the sound is too. Personally, I like the computer version better. It makes it sound more raw. So thanks UcidDinMers.
@gibkid@vasgrafix I thought so too but now I think it's just a really bad upload - sound not equalized, variations in tempo, etc. There are better versions on YT or just stick to your CD!

maybe my favorite Smiths song ever. Such a great tight song with little fat. And it's funny that whenever the Smiths are mentioned this song never comes up. It really is a great song, and one of my favorites of theirs.
i loved th the smiths growing up in 1980's, & then mostly listened to lyrics that were perfect for teenage age, but hearing it again, i'm mostly amazed by the guitar, & just the amount of chorus effect johnny marr used!
Morriseys words are louder than the loudest bombs of any war that man brought upon us . i cant go a day without listening to the smiths...every song was made perfectly....
@cornfed71 I'm 16 and I find that they help me through so much :) It's great to know that they've lived on, and are reaching out to everyone of all ages :)
It's such a treasure when we're graced with these morbidly relatable tunes. I'm taken back to when I was so terribly lonely, and I still am. And these are the only people who make it enjoyable.
@msangh2003 The Specials, Jam, Smiths and OASIS. Q. Can you spot the odd one out? A. Oasis, cos they're shite! How about Bauhaus, The the, Associates, Durutti Column, Banshees/Creatures, Damned, PiL, Bunnymen, Stranglers, Teardrop Explodes, Killing Joke, Psychedelic Furs, Scritti Politti, Depeche Mode, Fall, Japan, Luxuria/Magazine, Cure, Soft Cell, Cabaret Voltaire, Adam & the Ants, Madness? discovering the smiths/morrissey is like hearing music for the first time. im in lovestruck and in awe. its an unequivocal love that i know will remain with me till my death
I remember the first time I listened to the lyrics of The Smiths- it felt almost like someone had been inside my head all these years, taken note of all the things that bothered me and turned them into music. The second half of 'That Joke isn't funny anymore' especially- I lay on the couch in my mates' garage one night, in the dark, listening to that song over and over, tears streaming down my face. It was glorious.
@MarcoEsquand0las No, lol if anything the killers sound like the smiths. i also remember in an interview they said one of their biggest influences was the smiths. It just goes to show that great music influences more great music.
I can't get my head round the concept of being asexual, surely everyone is attracted to male or female, sometimes even both, but how can someone honestly say they aren't turned on by either. Sorry i just can't understand it.
@moewishaw He's not. For some reason he used to say that was is in the press. He's into guys, he may have dabbled here and there with women though. The lyrics in his songs are about his relationships and encounters with men (and on a few occasions, women). He isn't asexual in the least, he's had quite an interesting love life. In the 90s it was quite obvious that he fancied tough guys, like boxers.
