I got my dm1z for 350$ and it has e350 w/6310, 320gb 7200rpm hardrive, 3gb ram(just put in 8gb) and I love it. It may not be as fast as my other laptop which has i5 and 1gb ati 5650 but it does fine for my uses. Mostly got the hp for portability and enough horsepower to pla hd videos. Left 4 dead 2 is playable. The resolution is also 720 which is excellent for an 11 inch and hdmi out. I could not pass it up for 350$. btw the 6310 has 384mb of dedicated.
I also have an hp dm1 but I can't play this game. There's a dialog that will appear saying my videocard is not supported. I will 'continue anyway' then i will be presented with black screen an eye symbol and a green cursor, then nothing will happen.. I have to hard reset my laptop just be functioning again. Pls help me!
@Lucian5215 lol no. i literally meant "high". as in the lowest setting. ur setup is good, but u might want to play on the lowest setting and 720p w/ AA AF Vsinc off. that way, you can make some really good vids w/ frapps
My games i'm getting on my e-450 all assassins creed games, la noire, pes 2012, dirt 2, Just Cause 2, GTA IV, Batman Arkham city, Crysis 2 and a few I can't remember.
@pavy415 It is actually a netbook. But a netbook equipped with AMD, not the intel atom thing. An ultraportable would have cost much more (like 800€) while this one costed me about 379€. Ultraportable are usually thinner and equipped with intel core I5/i7 ULV processor.
About upgrading to 8Gb, well, I could, but I don't find it intesresting since It won't boost that much performances :p I find 3Gb of ram more than enough to do usual stuff.
@Lucian5215 well it will help because remember the graphics memory some of it is shared with the ram you have installed and adding more ram will only mean better more smotther gameplay.I myself have a similar computer like this and it has 8gb ram and i bought the highest ddr3 ram available and i also play crysis and i can play it on native resolution medium setting no lag so it will definitly help more ram better specially now since ddr3 ram is so cheap y not upgrade is the question?
wtf duuuuuuuuuuuuude???? u play crysis 2 on it??????????? i have the same laptop with wondows 7 and the only few games i can run pretty good is battlefield 2 and splinter cell 3 whoch is old..i downloaded far cry 1 today and it sucks...even on medium settings...wtf...all the fucking old games from 2004 run pretty bad on it...i have everything the same like yours but i have 4 gb memore..i thought maybe it's video card but it's like yours..I have windows 7 maximum ..maybe coz of it????please help
@Vlaxiti Nope, haven't tried linux on this netbook. 115°C is too hot, normally the Pc should have shutted down since when it reached 100°C...Or maybe the APU E 450 can support higher temperatures? I don't really know.
About Undervolting, I used Brazos Tweaker and it allows you to undervolt APU like the E 350 or the C 50. I don't know if it supports the E 450 APU. The risk when undervolting is not as high as excessive overclocking.
@Vlaxiti Well, for a netbook, it is quite good on gaming and not getting too hot. It stays at around 75-80°C... Well, actually, I have undervolted the APU so that It dropped like 4°C so it is more like 70-75°C now and it feels less hot and the fan makes less sound so it's pretty good.
The dm1-4000 is equipped with the AMD E 450 which is the new version of the E 350 with 0.6ghz more on the processor and 100mhz more on the GPU clock part. So you should go for the dm1-4000 and undervolt it a little
will I be able to play this game on my laptop?I have an Acer Aspire with 4gb of DDR3 ram ATI Radeon 6320(256Mb of Dedicated graphics memory and a dual core 1.65 Ghz processor . I bought it for $299 at staples. Great deal by the way.
@xGaMErZzZPrOx Yes. It will even run a little bit better since you have the upgrade version of the AMD E350, you have the AMD E450 with 1.66Ghz processor and the Amd 6320. Great deal I confirm ;)
@MrOne3ye Well someone on youtube has already posted a video of Battlefield bad company 2 running on a E350 APU and it was pretty playable on lowest graphical settings at ~10 to 20 fps I think.
@MrOne3ye Yup, as long as you're satisfied with it, that's good. Gamer's need are differents: some want to have 120 fps while it's useless above 60 fps and some find really playable at 30 fps. I am one of those who can enjoy games at 20-30 fps or more so I understand you ;).
You can still overclock your future HD 5450 if you want a little bit improve of performances :)
@topogigiodavid Yes it seems like it has almost the same settings except for the Ram and HDD but the APU is the same (AMD Fusion E-350) so it games will work on it.
@Umbrago When I played crysis 2, HW monitor showed me these temps:
78°C for the GPU, 36°C for the HDD, 45°C for the Ram and about 76°C for the motherboard.
Note that I was using a notebook cooler too. Also the netbook's inside fan ran at its max speed so It was pretty noisy.
Now, I am still using the notebook cooler and I found a Great Software: Brazos Tweaker which allows you to undervolt the APU and It lowered about 4-5°C for the GPU and motherboard and the fan is much less noisy too :)

@eXJoebroXe I can't check the link even If I replace the (dot)'s by a . What is the model of the laptop? Anyway, If you really want a gamer laptop that you won't move too much, go for at least a HD 5650 or a geforce gt 430m to play comfortably on quite good graphical settings. However, if you want to use it at school by exemple to take note and occasionnally play games on low settings, then go for a netbook with the amd E 350.
@videomaker2771 The amd fusion E-350 is not that bad. It was designed for low comsumption notebook or netbook. But it is not that much for gaming. Though, I don't know if It is a driver problem since I used the OEM default driver installed on the HP DM1.
@MGMasterfull Well I'd say that this netbook is good for casual gaming, not for playing games that are too much graphical demanding. Some people complain that X or Y game doesn't run smooth on the APU E350 with HD 6310, but in the same time, the APU E350 with HD 6310 was designed for low consumption PC and it's very good with its performances with only 18W. So yeah, if you just want to play games sometimes, it is good.
@MGMasterfull I tried MW2 on single player. I played the game on 1024*600 with all settings on except no vsync, no AA, nor soften smoken edge or radgoll something like that and I got like 25 most of the time which I found very playable.
@MGMasterfull You mean Crysis 2 doesn't work on the AMD E-350 dual core @ 1.6ghz and HD 6310? If so then that's strange. If your pc just stop while launching crysis 2 and stop at the opening when we see the logo of cry engine 3 then you just have to wait it to load. For me It took a little bit more than 1 min to load that on the netbook with amd E350, while on my desktop it took ~10 sec (core I3 540@ 3.06ghz and Geforce GT 430).
@Lucian5215 No , its just that ,even with cod4 everything on low settings , i still have 10 fps barely playebale , is there something to do against that ?
@MGMasterfull wow. Now that's really strange :s Well, what are your full specs? what driver are you using for the HD 6310? I'd advice you to use the 11.5, not the 11.6 as some people have experienced BSOD and had to erase and reinstall everything. Is this a laptop or a desktop? If it is a laptop, make sure to use the high performance profile. Download Gamebooster and try it. Do you have any other programs running while playing?
@Lucian5215 specs are the same as you from wath i know , its laptopt so il download gamebooster , and yes skype and steam where on , and fraps for recording
@MGMasterfull How many fps you got now on modern warfare 2 ;) ? Anyway, I really think that it was just a problem of profile in the laptop (power saving mode or normal mode instead of high performance mode) because when you use gamebooster, it integrates a profile "gaming" that push the CPU and GPU to their maximum default clocks.
@Lucian5215 ok , with fraps on its still o bit low but good playable i have around 20-30 fps on cod4 and i don't have mw2 do you have a link for a mw2 demo or something ?
@jbag3399 I forced the game to run at 640*480 in the config file. Otherwise, I didn't change anything else: I have just set the quality settings to gamer. I don't know know much about texture settings or filtering because there are not much graphical settings to change in the crysis 2 menu, But I think there is an anti aliasing used by default even on gamer settings, the anti aliasing is more visible when setting is on advanced and more when it is on hardcore settings.
@Soulexr2 May look strange I know. though motion blur and little screen makes the game playable, you don't see much the frame skipping and aiming isn't that bad :p
@TushaarTheTerminator I don't have the game but since it runs even on integrated graphic card, Yeah it will run smoothly. But 100 fps, I'm not sure. Though, who really needs to play at 100 fps? 60 fps is the best for a FPS.
@Lucian5215 i was planning to use this netbook for LAN Tournaments of mine! smtimes, its tuff to carry PC with me.. So, for better game.. Stable 100fps is needed!
it would be great if u download da game, its juz 300MB. and try it out! would be damn helpful! thnks for replying :)
Most of the benchmarks about the 6310m are mostly estimates.
They say that cod6 is barely playable when you can clearly see in other videos it runs at 55fps. They also say that dirt 2 cant be playable when it can.
Metro 2033 on 800*600 on low settings: 5 to 25 fps but not that playable (most of time ~12 fps)
And as you can see crysis 2 in the video.
So yeah, it can play most games.
I have even tried Left 4 Dead 2 on multipplayer via Steam:
on 1024*600 and medium settings, Multi core option enable (gain of 10 fps!!!) and I play at 14 to 50 fps with most of the time ~25 fps and ~14 when lots of ennemies.
Is the Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ661 just as good as the hp dm1 they have the same processor but the acer has 4gigs of ram and a 500gb 5400rpm hard drive. It also has a disk drive.
It would have the same performance as the hp dm1 right?
@Lucian5215 becuase some of the benchmarks were saying it is worse than a pentium with intel gma graphics but maybe it was like that becuase they rated it as a desktop replacement.
@videomaker2771 Most games that I play are on 1024*600 even though I can go until 1366*768 because on native resolution it lags on most games on medium/high settings. To play games quite fluently on native resolution, I'd have to drops all graphical option on minimum so It's not that enjoyable.
@videomaker2771 Nice, Nice! :D I saw that this APU beats the intel core I7-2630QM 2.0Ghz!! You got a beast of a PC XD if you could post some videos of games running on your pc, that'll be great ;)
@videomaker2771 There are 3 different graphical settings in the following order: Gamer, Advanced and Hardcore.
The lowes level is Gamer (medium), then Advanced (high) and then Hardcore (highest). Higher graphical settings add more AA, Shadow resolution, maybe a little bit more motion blur and shadow particle (things you see when looking at a tree behind the sun by exemple). Though I don't see that much graphical difference worth the drop of fps in a small screen.
@Lucian5215 Im having some buyers remorse here and i was hoping you could help. what is the best out of these 2: a single nvidia gt geforce 550m dual configuration of 2 ati radeon 6630m ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- what is better out of these 2: dual configuration of 2 ati radeon 6630m nvidia gt geforce 335m for this one i found conflicting answers even thought the the 6630m is slightly better and there is 2 cards.
@videomaker2771 Yeah I see. That's why I said theoratically dual ati 6630m are better than gt 550m. But, the processor isn't that good and that's why the GPU is limited (by the processor) and so the dual ati gpu are not used at their full capacity. If there were a possibility to overclock the amd a8-3510mx or a8-3500m processor, it should be better. But since it's a new architecture, I doubt they can be overclocked for now.
and I just found an XPS deal with an i5 and Nvidia GT 550m graphics for $750 with a coupon.
But, I think Im going to keep it because I also read that once AMD updates their crossfire drivers and games start becoming optimized for quad core it will offer very good performance on games plus with better battery life.
Those videos that i said i would post arent going to be posted for awhile because the laptop is now on back order. :(
@Lucian5215 i got the laptop and just before i keep it do you know which is better?
A8-3510mx with 6620g + 6490m (actually i was amazed by the fact that the processor took all the stress off the 6490m becuase by itself ,not in dual graphics mode, in maxed out settings on Brink and Assasins Creed Brotherhood it cranked out playable framerates.
A8-3500m with 6620g + 6750m
all the reviews say it is good combination. somebody palyed crysis 2 maxed out.
@videomaker2771 i tried black ops on this graphics chipset, and its not playable and yes dirt 2 is very playable, certain games run well, portal 2 runs very well at medium/high settings on max resolution. gta 4 is playable at low settings with latest patch and running at low resolution. medal of honor airborne playable at decent settings and max resolution. i tried fable 3 but there is way too much lag even at lowest settings. half life 2 playable at max settings and resolution.
@videomaker2771 It is a program that helps you save some Ram by disabling some other programs and services that are not used for the game. Sometimes you can gain until 200 MB Ram with it and sometimes 30MB.
Otherwise, the games run almost the same with it, don't need to expect a huge improvement but you can have few extra fps or even maintain a minimum fps a little bit higher than usual.
@videomaker2771 Now that's better ;) I advice you to choose the one with the intel core I3 since the pentium dual core is much less powerfull. But what's the price anyway?
@videomaker2771 The Geforce 310M is weaker than the ATI 6470M (about 10% maybe). I'd better go for the HD 6470 and a Core I3 than a Core I5 with a 310M If I want to play games. But if you don't play that much, you can go for the I5+310M which would be a little bit faster for other programs but a little bit weaker for games.
@videomaker2771 I think it's the same, dedicated and discrete card describe the same type of GPU and mainly they are much much better than integrated card.
@videomaker2771 Well if you look at some of the videos on youtube, you'll see that the HD 6470 is a little bit better than its previous version, the HD 5470 which was already able to play most recent game on 1280*720 on low or medium. So compared to the HP DM1, the I3+6470M is much stronger! But keep in mind that the HP DM1 is ONLY a netbook but can play recent games.
So, if you plan to use most of the time your laptop at home (for game etc), better go for I3+6470M, if you want mobility, HP DM1
@plutonicsilver If 50 seconds is fast enough for you then, yes, it is quite fast to start up. It depends on the programs you installed in it too (some programs automatically open on windows startup)
@pedritoaoe It is not really a gaming Netbook. Though it is a strong one for its price. You can play all recent games on almost minimum and considering that it's a only a netbook, it's gret. If you are satisfied with that then go for it, this model has quite limited quantity.
@videomaker2771 Otherwise, it's almost the same. It all depends if you would like a better touchpad and slightly more silent netbook or one with more Ram and Go in Hard drive and maybe a little bit more responsive since the Ram is shared with the GPU.
But well, Personally I prefer the HP DM1, I use a mouse so I don't really care about the touchpad and the environmental sound cover the sound from the fan inside the HP DM1.
Haven't tested Brink, can't tell if it would run well on this card sorry. There must be some videos of Brink running on HD 5000 and 6000 series. a quick search on youtube and you'll see ;)
@videomaker2771 Keep in mind that the HD 6310 amd is a low end from the 6000 series. In other words, a low end from a new generation could be slower than a mid-high end from a old generation of GPU.
By the way, the HD 5800 is way better than the HD 6310 since it's a desktop model and high end on the top of that.
@videomaker2771 Well yeah I guess. Though I think that the person who played this game forced too much graphical option that's why it ran at 20 fps on a High End HD 4890. Also the HD 4890 is I think approximately as strong as the HD 5770. I'm not sure since I'm used to Geforce GPU.
But, I saw also Brink running on a low end 8400 GS Geforce and it ran at almost minimum with 20-30 fps most of the time so i'm pretty sure It would run On this netbook With HD 6310.
@videomaker2771 The game is at the minimum setting possible from the crysis 2 graphical option. But as you can see, it isn't minimum since there are shadows and so on. There a few tweaks to remove them so that you can gain a few extra fps.
In the HP you use the coolsense software for lower fan noise. Recently HP released a new bios that reduces even more fan noise(without the coolsense software, with it's even more quieter)
@00nawak I think you'll get some 5 extra fps if you can overclock as much as I could which will be smoother, and if you already have satisfying framerate, yes, of course you can increase a little bit the graphics.
@Lucian5215 Crysis 2 isn't recognize for his framerate even in consoles you just move a lil bit the pad and ZIPLA! Thanks for all, aaaaaaaaannnnd WTF you're french mec! Le seul problème est l'annulation de la garantie constructeur. Pour autant un pc à 400 Euros avec ces performances c'est plutôt pas mal ^^
I got my dm1z for 350$ and it has e350 w/6310, 320gb 7200rpm hardrive, 3gb ram(just put in 8gb) and I love it. @topogigiodavid Yes it seems like it has almost the same settings except for the Ram and HDD but the APU is the same (AMD Fusion E-350) so it games will work on it.

@luuranko3 Normally Yes.
Lucian5215 5 months ago
How warm and noisy does it get while you play the game?
Umbrago 5 months ago
@Umbrago When I played crysis 2, HW monitor showed me these temps:
78°C for the GPU, 36°C for the HDD, 45°C for the Ram and about 76°C for the motherboard.
Note that I was using a notebook cooler too. Also the netbook's inside fan ran at its max speed so It was pretty noisy.
Now, I am still using the notebook cooler and I found a Great Software: Brazos Tweaker which allows you to undervolt the APU and It lowered about 4-5°C for the GPU and motherboard and the fan is much less noisy too :)

that is insane. I think I may use the AMD Fusion for a games console.

@Lucian5215 Hey! I'm going to buy Asus 1215B with "same" specs (e350@1.6, 6310, etc) do you think it'll perorm similar?
estcap2 6 months ago
@estcap2 Well of course. Why wouldn't it perform as good if it has the same specs? :)
Lucian5215 6 months ago
wow... will a 1215B (e350 + 6310) be "as good" as it?

eXJoebroXe 8 months ago
@eXJoebroXe I can't check the link even If I replace the (dot)'s by a . What is the model of the laptop? Anyway, If you really want a gamer laptop that you won't move too much, go for at least a HD 5650 or a geforce gt 430m to play comfortably on quite good graphical settings. However, if you want to use it at school by exemple to take note and occasionnally play games on low settings, then go for a netbook with the amd E 350.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
The Amd Fusion GPU which is s 6310 is very very slow. Its a onboard card. Not made for professional gaming.
Jehuty1979 8 months ago
lucian5215,
do youknow what could be wrong?
I bought a laptop with an amd fusion E-350 and when i play games like civilization 5,
brink, or breach, the graphics card is only running at 30-35%.
On these games i get:
brink:7.5 fps to 10fps (barely playable)
civilization 5: 28fps-30fps (extremely playable)
breach: 18fps-30fps (playable)
is there a driver problem or could it just be the amd fusion E-350 is that bad?
videomaker2771 8 months ago
@videomaker2771 The amd fusion E-350 is not that bad. It was designed for low comsumption notebook or netbook. But it is not that much for gaming. Though, I don't know if It is a driver problem since I used the OEM default driver installed on the HP DM1.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 its not for gaming ? But it seems to run great ? So is it a good computer to buy if you just wanna play sometimes ?
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull Well I'd say that this netbook is good for casual gaming, not for playing games that are too much graphical demanding. Some people complain that X or Y game doesn't run smooth on the APU E350 with HD 6310, but in the same time, the APU E350 with HD 6310 was designed for low consumption PC and it's very good with its performances with only 18W. So yeah, if you just want to play games sometimes, it is good.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 mw2 on medium plus recording with wegame (witch takes like 3 fps ) , would that be possible ?
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull I tried MW2 on single player. I played the game on 1024*600 with all settings on except no vsync, no AA, nor soften smoken edge or radgoll something like that and I got like 25 most of the time which I found very playable.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 ok nice :)
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 i have exactly the same specs but it doesn't work with me :( Can you help ?
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull You mean Crysis 2 doesn't work on the AMD E-350 dual core @ 1.6ghz and HD 6310? If so then that's strange. If your pc just stop while launching crysis 2 and stop at the opening when we see the logo of cry engine 3 then you just have to wait it to load. For me It took a little bit more than 1 min to load that on the netbook with amd E350, while on my desktop it took ~10 sec (core I3 540@ 3.06ghz and Geforce GT 430).
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 No , its just that ,even with cod4 everything on low settings , i still have 10 fps barely playebale , is there something to do against that ?
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull wow. Now that's really strange :s Well, what are your full specs? what driver are you using for the HD 6310? I'd advice you to use the 11.5, not the 11.6 as some people have experienced BSOD and had to erase and reinstall everything. Is this a laptop or a desktop? If it is a laptop, make sure to use the high performance profile. Download Gamebooster and try it. Do you have any other programs running while playing?
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 specs are the same as you from wath i know , its laptopt so il download gamebooster , and yes skype and steam where on , and fraps for recording
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 Thnx for the help that gamebooster did the job :)
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull How many fps you got now on modern warfare 2 ;) ? Anyway, I really think that it was just a problem of profile in the laptop (power saving mode or normal mode instead of high performance mode) because when you use gamebooster, it integrates a profile "gaming" that push the CPU and GPU to their maximum default clocks.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 ok , with fraps on its still o bit low but good playable i have around 20-30 fps on cod4 and i don't have mw2 do you have a link for a mw2 demo or something ?
MGMasterfull 8 months ago
what was your texture settings set to
and what filtering did you use
jbag3399 8 months ago
@jbag3399 I forced the game to run at 640*480 in the config file. Otherwise, I didn't change anything else: I have just set the quality settings to gamer. I don't know know much about texture settings or filtering because there are not much graphical settings to change in the crysis 2 menu, But I think there is an anti aliasing used by default even on gamer settings, the anti aliasing is more visible when setting is on advanced and more when it is on hardcore settings.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@MGMasterfull And texture and so on forced on extra too.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 ok thnx :) I already order a pc with the same specs :)

Fps: 10 to 30 very playable
bullshit bro lol
Soulexr2 8 months ago
@Soulexr2 May look strange I know. though motion blur and little screen makes the game playable, you don't see much the frame skipping and aiming isn't that bad :p
Lucian5215 8 months ago
Nice Vid! btw i was also planning to buy same netbook. Will it give constant 100fps on Counter Strike 1.6??? Even after 1 or 2 Smokes Grenade?
TushaarTheTerminator 8 months ago
@TushaarTheTerminator I don't have the game but since it runs even on integrated graphic card, Yeah it will run smoothly. But 100 fps, I'm not sure. Though, who really needs to play at 100 fps? 60 fps is the best for a FPS.
Lucian5215 8 months ago
@Lucian5215 i was planning to use this netbook for LAN Tournaments of mine! smtimes, its tuff to carry PC with me.. So, for better game.. Stable 100fps is needed!
it would be great if u download da game, its juz 300MB. and try it out! would be damn helpful! thnks for replying :)

I have tried Farcry 2 on my HP DM1.. It works good on high setting. This AMD Fusion is really something
abbeyroad2099 9 months ago
Most of the benchmarks about the 6310m are mostly estimates.
They say that cod6 is barely playable when you can clearly see in other videos it runs at 55fps. They also say that dirt 2 cant be playable when it can.
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Sure, the 6310m is underestimate in theory while in practical it can play a lot of games.
To give you an Idea I tried other games but couldn't post their videos because I did not have much time:
Devil May Cry 4 on high settings 1024*600 resolution: 35 fps Avg
Silent hill homecoming on medium settings and 1024*600: 20 to 30 fps
Call of duty MW2 with all options on except vsync, AA, soften smoken edge and 1024*600: 15 to 35 fps
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 I have tried heavier game like:
Metro 2033 on 800*600 on low settings: 5 to 25 fps but not that playable (most of time ~12 fps)
And as you can see crysis 2 in the video.
So yeah, it can play most games.
I have even tried Left 4 Dead 2 on multipplayer via Steam:
on 1024*600 and medium settings, Multi core option enable (gain of 10 fps!!!) and I play at 14 to 50 fps with most of the time ~25 fps and ~14 when lots of ennemies.

@Lucian5215
Is the Acer Aspire AS5253-BZ661 just as good as the hp dm1 they have the same processor but the acer has 4gigs of ram and a 500gb 5400rpm hard drive. It also has a disk drive.
It would have the same performance as the hp dm1 right?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Yeah mostly I guess.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215 becuase some of the benchmarks were saying it is worse than a pentium with intel gma graphics but maybe it was like that becuase they rated it as a desktop replacement.
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Most games that I play are on 1024*600 even though I can go until 1366*768 because on native resolution it lags on most games on medium/high settings. To play games quite fluently on native resolution, I'd have to drops all graphical option on minimum so It's not that enjoyable.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
thats okay becuase i can play games on minimum for me i dont care how low the graphics are as long as it runs smoothly. Thanks for all your help!
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@Lucian5215 hey it turns out that it was the ram that was only running at %30-%35
The picture was so alike the graphics card picture on the cpu meter that i couldnt tell.
I actually traded it in becuase it just wasn't working and i waited for the amd a8 processor.
Then i got a great deal at costco where i got:
amd A8-3510mx
512mb GDDR5 dual grahpics (Wasn't specific same model at best buy had an Ati 6750m and an 6620g)
6gd dual channel
for $722
Thanks for all your help on the hp dm1
videomaker2771 8 months ago
@videomaker2771 Nice, Nice! :D I saw that this APU beats the intel core I7-2630QM 2.0Ghz!! You got a beast of a PC XD if you could post some videos of games running on your pc, that'll be great ;)

@Lucian5215 what graphics card is better:
Dual ati radeon 6630m
or
nvidia gt 525m
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 Ati radeon 6630m is slightly better than nvidia gt 525m. So you should go fo 6630m ;)
Lucian5215 7 months ago
@Lucian5215
what is does advanced meen for settings in crysis 2?
what is the word for high settings in crysis 2?
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 There are 3 different graphical settings in the following order: Gamer, Advanced and Hardcore.
The lowes level is Gamer (medium), then Advanced (high) and then Hardcore (highest). Higher graphical settings add more AA, Shadow resolution, maybe a little bit more motion blur and shadow particle (things you see when looking at a tree behind the sun by exemple). Though I don't see that much graphical difference worth the drop of fps in a small screen.
Lucian5215 7 months ago
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@Lucian5215 this is continued from my other comment:
i read that with the a8-3510mx (the laptop still hasnt shipped yet)
that a processor that is not better than an intel core 2 duo in terms of raw processing power
will hold back your graphics card. The amd a8-3500m (the processor just below the a8-3510mx)
was able to (with dual 6630ms) perform on the same level of an overclocked lowpower pentium with a single nvidia gt geforce 335m.
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 Yeah I see. That's why I said theoratically dual ati 6630m are better than gt 550m. But, the processor isn't that good and that's why the GPU is limited (by the processor) and so the dual ati gpu are not used at their full capacity. If there were a possibility to overclock the amd a8-3510mx or a8-3500m processor, it should be better. But since it's a new architecture, I doubt they can be overclocked for now.
Lucian5215 7 months ago
@Lucian5215
and I just found an XPS deal with an i5 and Nvidia GT 550m graphics for $750 with a coupon.
But, I think Im going to keep it because I also read that once AMD updates their crossfire drivers and games start becoming optimized for quad core it will offer very good performance on games plus with better battery life.
Those videos that i said i would post arent going to be posted for awhile because the laptop is now on back order. :(
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 So a Core I5/I7 sandy bridge + gt 335m or gt 550m for now would be better.
Lucian5215 7 months ago
@Lucian5215 i got the laptop and just before i keep it do you know which is better?
A8-3510mx with 6620g + 6490m (actually i was amazed by the fact that the processor took all the stress off the 6490m becuase by itself ,not in dual graphics mode, in maxed out settings on Brink and Assasins Creed Brotherhood it cranked out playable framerates.
A8-3500m with 6620g + 6750m
all the reviews say it is good combination. somebody palyed crysis 2 maxed out.
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 I would go for the A8-3500m with 6620g + 6750m if the processor is overclockable so that it doesn't limit the gpu :D
But if it is not overclockable, then The A8-3510mx with 6620g + 6490m would be nice.
Lucian5215 7 months ago
@Lucian5215 I don't think you can overclock the a8-3500m
besides if I turn down the resolution a little bit with the 6490m I can get up to 40 fps
and with the 6620g i can get up to 60 fps. I'm going to post some videos soon.
I also get a two year accidental warranty if I keep the A8-3510mx. :)
Also, I think there are some ATI driver problems with Brink because in once the game gets going
i get a high framerate but then somebody shoots at me and i get 18fps-22fps with the 6620g
.
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 that's good :)
Lucian5215 7 months ago
@Lucian5215 so amd a8-3510mx with 6620g+6490m?
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@Lucian5215 But i still goes back up to 30-40 but for a period of time the framerate is limited to 18-22fps
But its not from the processor because its only using 43%.So its from the game.
videomaker2771 7 months ago
@videomaker2771 i tried black ops on this graphics chipset, and its not playable and yes dirt 2 is very playable, certain games run well, portal 2 runs very well at medium/high settings on max resolution. gta 4 is playable at low settings with latest patch and running at low resolution. medal of honor airborne playable at decent settings and max resolution. i tried fable 3 but there is way too much lag even at lowest settings. half life 2 playable at max settings and resolution.
ryanThornhill1 9 months ago
what is gamebooster 2.2?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 It is a program that helps you save some Ram by disabling some other programs and services that are not used for the game. Sometimes you can gain until 200 MB Ram with it and sometimes 30MB.
Otherwise, the games run almost the same with it, don't need to expect a huge improvement but you can have few extra fps or even maintain a minimum fps a little bit higher than usual.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
okay. Would a computer with thes specs:
Intel® Core™ i5-460M Processor 2.53GHz
6GB DDR3 2 DIMM
500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
8x DVD+/-R Drive
Intel GMA HD Graphics
Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
would this be better then the hp dm1 gaming wise? i'm unsure becuase of the intel hd graphics
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 nope, the gma HD is stronger than the usual intel integrated chip but it's still not strong enough for gaming.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
hey i have one more question besides the other one i posted
would this be better than the Hp dm1? :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-380M Dual Core Processor (2.53 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) or Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual Core Processor P6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache)
3 GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
250GB 7200RPM
512MB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6470M Graphics
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Now that's better ;) I advice you to choose the one with the intel core I3 since the pentium dual core is much less powerfull. But what's the price anyway?
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215 the i3 with the ati card cost $524(i dont know how much euros)
the pentium versions are $450 to $470 with the ati card
but you have to be a costco member.
if you are its under the section "build your own hp for under $500" and then hp g6t section
for the i5 if it was 32 bit but had a nvidia geforce 310m and dual channel ram would that make it better a choice?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 The Geforce 310M is weaker than the ATI 6470M (about 10% maybe). I'd better go for the HD 6470 and a Core I3 than a Core I5 with a 310M If I want to play games. But if you don't play that much, you can go for the I5+310M which would be a little bit faster for other programs but a little bit weaker for games.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
yeah im going to get the i3 becuase it offers better gaming permormanc plus it is $26 cheaper. :) (524 vs 550)
hey whats the difference between a dedicated card and a discrete card?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 I think it's the same, dedicated and discrete card describe the same type of GPU and mainly they are much much better than integrated card.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
the 6470m has the power of 256 gigaflops compared to 73 from the 310m.
how much of the performance increase is there over the hp dm1 from the i3+6470m?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Well if you look at some of the videos on youtube, you'll see that the HD 6470 is a little bit better than its previous version, the HD 5470 which was already able to play most recent game on 1280*720 on low or medium. So compared to the HP DM1, the I3+6470M is much stronger! But keep in mind that the HP DM1 is ONLY a netbook but can play recent games.
So, if you plan to use most of the time your laptop at home (for game etc), better go for I3+6470M, if you want mobility, HP DM1
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
the price was just raised and i actually planned to buy some upgrades for it (faster hard drive, faster Ram)
and i dont want to spend $600 now on the i3+6470m so the hp dm1 is the best now. thanks!

pedritoaoe 9 months ago
@pedritoaoe It is not really a gaming Netbook. Though it is a strong one for its price. You can play all recent games on almost minimum and considering that it's a only a netbook, it's gret. If you are satisfied with that then go for it, this model has quite limited quantity.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
Damn, this chip is so great! I never though Crysis would be anywhere near playable on a 400$ laptop, but it is. Thanks for the vid.
CutControlPunk 9 months ago
Whats better the MSI u270 or the HP DM1 they both have the same processors so which is better
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Well, the difference between the two:
The HP DM1 A little bit louder than the msi (fan speed)
The touchpad is not as good as in the msi netbook
It does not have USB 3.0 while the msi have one
However, the HP DM1 have 500Go hard drive compared to the 320 Hard drive from Msi
Same for the Ram, HP DM1 have 3 Gb instead of 2 Gb in the Msi
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Otherwise, it's almost the same. It all depends if you would like a better touchpad and slightly more silent netbook or one with more Ram and Go in Hard drive and maybe a little bit more responsive since the Ram is shared with the GPU.
But well, Personally I prefer the HP DM1, I use a mouse so I don't really care about the touchpad and the environmental sound cover the sound from the fan inside the HP DM1.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Well, all those caracteristics are as I said but the model from france, maybe the model from the US is better.
And Yeah I forgot to mention the price too: The Msi (399€) is 50€ more expensive than the HP DM1 (349€)
Lucian5215 9 months ago

@Lucian5215 Gamer settings mean medium on crysis 2 right? So could i play Brink?
Becuase Brink needs a 2.4ghz processor too and 2gbs of ram with a 6000 series ATI card
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 yup, gamer=medium.
Haven't tested Brink, can't tell if it would run well on this card sorry. There must be some videos of Brink running on HD 5000 and 6000 series. a quick search on youtube and you'll see ;)
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215 wait no Brink wants a 5800 series ATI radeon card
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Keep in mind that the HD 6310 amd is a low end from the 6000 series. In other words, a low end from a new generation could be slower than a mid-high end from a old generation of GPU.
By the way, the HD 5800 is way better than the HD 6310 since it's a desktop model and high end on the top of that.
Lucian5215 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
actually brink wants a 5850 card but thats the reccomended the minimum is an ati radeon 2900 pro would it work?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
sorry i forgot to say that the minimum was An ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro card
And Brink is not that graphicaly demanding becuase it is more cartoonish not textured
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@Lucian5215
I also just saw brink running on a ATi Radeon HD 4890 card at 20fps
The 6000 series is better than that right?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 Well yeah I guess. Though I think that the person who played this game forced too much graphical option that's why it ran at 20 fps on a High End HD 4890. Also the HD 4890 is I think approximately as strong as the HD 5770. I'm not sure since I'm used to Geforce GPU.
But, I saw also Brink running on a low end 8400 GS Geforce and it ran at almost minimum with 20-30 fps most of the time so i'm pretty sure It would run On this netbook With HD 6310.

@Lucian5215
one more thing, was it running at low or medium, or is that what you meant by minimum?
videomaker2771 9 months ago
@videomaker2771 The game is at the minimum setting possible from the crysis 2 graphical option. But as you can see, it isn't minimum since there are shadows and so on. There a few tweaks to remove them so that you can gain a few extra fps.

In the HP you use the coolsense software for lower fan noise. Recently HP released a new bios that reduces even more fan noise(without the coolsense software, with it's even more quieter)

Its amazing how motion blur can really cover up the low framerate. Despite being under 20 fps it looks pretty smooth

Hi dude I just bought a pc last time which has those configurations:
Operating system: Windows 7 64 bits.
Processor: intel core i3 processor 540
Memory/RAM: 4GB DDR3
Hard disk 1TB. (doesn't matter no? But anyways I got space :D)
Graphics Nvidia GeForce 315; 512 MB
Card Reader: Multi in one.
Well I've seen one of your vid using the same graphic card as me on MW2.
I got Crysis 2 it works but with cool/normal graphics do you think I could much better graphics by over clocking I sub dude thx
