  • If I don't see where food comes from I could not swallow it

  • Poisons,bacteria ,rodents etc

  • Who knows what is in it u r risking life

  • I understand that u can take stuff which u can clean but eating food from garbage is very dangerous and crazy if it is not in a closed foil package

  • God awefull music!

  • in my country only cat eat garbage

  • Be aware of hepatitis!

  • I think it's unfortunate that they feel the need to make this into a political statement. They're getting free food, which is fine by itself, but they're speaking badly about the wastefulness of the supermarkets... the very waste that is keeping them fed.

  • Freegans are just people who don't want to work a proper job, simple as.

  • most grocery stores do not donate their out of date stuff they just throw it out because they do not want to transport it to the food pantries

  • @denisebil

well that and its a liability

  • Just b/c I used that EPA quote on industrial waste in my undergraduate thesis... Just so you know, the 7.6 billion tons annually is in reference to INDUSTRIAL (e.g. mining waste, manufacturing waste, etc.) NOT commercial (e.g. what you'd find in the trash at a grocery store). The context in which you're using it is kinda skewed.

-No hard feelings or anything. Just lettin' ya know b/c I actually almost used that in the same way in my publication (-which I was called out on.)

  • capitalism and greed under sttack.Good way to fight back

  • I didn't actually realize people were watching this video... For the record, I myself do not practice freeganism. This was made as a project for a documentary class and is merely a highlight/shortened version of that project. I neither condone nor condemn what they are doing, but merely hope to show a different perspective.

  • Chalupa, I do not practice freeganism myself. This was only a glimpse into what they do. Though I fully understand your concerns, here's a few clarifications: They do not (as far as I know)go through personal garbage, only commercial ( grocery stores, bakeries, etc) that throw away packaged, usable food. Many times they have an agreement not to make a mess, and to put back what they don't need/take. Many times they also hand this food out to the needy and homeless. I

  • I used to do this in the 1970s. A man taught me to do this before it was called by a name. The stroes used to pour beach and whatever over the trash so it was not good to eat when you dug it out. Please beware of this. But you keep it up. Godswifedotcom

  • I grow my own veg, the other day I dung up my potatoes from the ground they were covered in dirt I washed them and eat them this is know different if its good food and its free why not get in there before the fat cats change the laws!

  • @RCH2524 Growing your own food is not free, I will admit it's a LOT better than getting from the trash. But you had to pay for the seeds, and what not to have a good garden. Growing a good garden takes time and effort. My family grows their own food, and it is never free. I will agree, if they don't like the idea of buying food from a store, they need to grow it. (but most people are lazy. They don't want to work hard for what they want.)

  • superb philosophy on life! i salute you!

  • Americans wastes a lot of food . These could feed the poor nations in Africa and Asia .
