So much hate for BP, its essential to mention that hat the rig was owned and run by Americans (BP were not allowed to use anything but) and the well is only 60pct owned by BP. The rest is owned by Haliburton. Which is of course an American company.The jurisdiction for this well is in the USA I believe it to be Federal Jurisdiction as well. Ultimately BP isnt to blame, youre just lucky BP has cash in the bank to deal with it.

@stina5923 Yeah well what about the fact they have 720 safety violations in their records, for the past 2 years!!! Compare that to Shell or Exxonmobil who have about 15-20. That is a huge fucking difference and it shows you that safety is not priority nr. 1 for British Petroleum. Biggest possible profit is.

@stina5923 the problem is that BP, which he's in charge of, has saved shit loads of money by spending less money on ensuring total safety and reliability. that's the reason there are thousands of oil rigs out there, but this never really happens, because it is preventable, if you actually try to prevent it. and despite all the damage he helped do to society, the economy, and the environment, he's still going to die richer than you and everyone you'll ever know combined. that's why he sucks.
