I am new to bass at 44 yrs, though I am a multi-instrumentalist. This is one of the first things I had a go at. Please check out what two months of bass playing produces!!! Your own cover is wonderfully played.
How expensive is the stingray? I've been meaning to go out and get a bass to learn and play on, and I'm stuck in between the Jazz Bass for it's smooth sound and the stingray for it's looks as well as sound, but from what I've seen the stingray can be about 200 dollars more at the least. Which would you recommend? I can buy anything under 1500 dollars, but saving a little cash would be nice lol. Thanks.
@PyromancerMusic they(rays) can run anywhere from like $1200-$3000 new depending on the model/features. used i've seen as low as $750 to around $1100. it's really preference though, i'd consider a jazz to be a more common, smoother sound compared to a ray which imo is more high fi and ballsy(though i have also heard incredibly ballsy jazzes too) idk, i guess try both out side by side would probably be your best bet. they are a bit different feature-wise.
@youknowyourrite1 Agree ! Those bass are really really different ! I advise you to try both like he said ;) you know in music when you wanna buy something you already have to try before ! If you don't, I don't tell it's always true, but you might be disappointed !
You guys have both been a huge help. I'm actually playing a Warwick in jazz band now, it's a bit too punchy imo but I like it. There was a Fender JB at my old school, so if I ever need to rent I'll probably look into a JB. Thanks a ton!

Raise your C to a C# in the lick when you go from your E to your A string. I'm surprised you don't hear that?
