@YyJoBb dont lett oryxfreeride tell you your too short. When i played for Team Canada one of the right side hitters on the team was 5'9. Just really practice your vertical, and you will be fine. And that growth formula stuff is total BS please dont waste your time or money

@oryxfreeride noo im not a female lol, and if my memory serves me correct his name was Ryan Elwood from Edmonton, Canada. I only played with him for two years because he left to go firefight back in Edmonton, but yea he was a 5'9 right side. The nets were a lot lower back in my time, but yes he did have a mad ass vertical. He had no problem dunking a basketball on a 10 foot net, with a standard volleyball attack approach

@YyJoBb 5'10 is too short, hope youre not serious about a growth formula. If you can get a 45 inch vertical, you may stand a chance, at a semi-competitive level.

Start learning how to set and be a good libero.

The ref may have even caught that I don't know, but usually they don't miss those calls, they are easy to see, unlike whether or not a ball going 80 mph is in or out. You are allowed to step partially but not fully over the center line if you don't interfere, but on a backrow attack you can't touch it at all, this was definitely a violation.

Not sure how true it remains today but back when I used to play in the 90's I remember being quite proud of the fact that there was only 1 country in the top 10 ranked VB countries that did not have its own national pro volleyball league.... Canada! Nice to see some representation in your vid! (also good to show that even the best can get beat sometimes... I bet Giba still has nightmares from that sixpack!)

Its a shame, they were invited back to the 2008 World League, they would have already competed in 2 more World League's and been preparing right now for the 4th WL in 4 years, except that Canada had to drop out of the WL with very late notice because they simply did not have the funding to send the athlete's, book the events, and air the events on television.

Yes wlazly is quite impressive. Hes probably one of the best spikers to watch because of his vertical and how well he can hit a ball, and of course effective too.

I wouldn't say I really have a favorite player though. I love the sport of volleyball, and enjoy watching it professionally. If you watch my video's though, youll generally see some of the players that I do like... Wlazly, Dante, Giba, Winters etc.

But keep in mind I like players who aren't just the big hitters too..

Have you ever heard of an american called Karch Kiraly? There are also a lot of excellent guys still playing, like Giba (the best nowadays), Dante, Stanley, Zlatanov... All of them are in a level above Wlazly. He's very good, but not as those mentioned.

Dante didnt play well in the olympics either. wlazly just impresses me because he has such a slight build but massive jump, and he plays opposite which is normally reserved for massive guys or left handers

Rosco482, I mentioned Kiraly, who stopped playing indoor in the early nineties, because someone said Wlazly was "the best player ever". That's so wrong. Although the Polish player is very good, he's not in that level of the main players in history. Giba was injured in Beijing. I believe he has a lot to offer. In my opinion, a great player is much more than strength and high jump, that's why Wlazly doesn't impress me. As an opposite, I prefer Miljkovic, Stanley or André, among others.

I agree, Wlazly isn't the best just because he can kill a ball really well, and make it look so good. I still like to watch him hit because he can jump so high and then just rip a ball into the ground. There's other right sides who can hit perhaps more effectively, and play the other aspects of the game better too, well you could argue that anyways.

Of course he does. He is very young, not sure exactly, I think the announcer may have said 23, sounds about right.  He's (one of) the youngest on the polish national team, although I'm not sure where he plays his pro ball. Hopefully ill be able to catch more of him and the polish team in either this years World League in June, or the Olympics in August.

Let me know what you think. Sorry the quality isn't as good as i would like it to be, Windows Movie Maker really killed the quality, and it was horribly inaccurate at trimming clips. Ill find a real program to do this and release more soon.

My favorite parts are: Winters hit at 00:12, Wlazly kill at 00:34, Libero dig at 00:58 (Alan, or Allan, not sure of the spelling), Ricardo set 1:20, Giba kill at 1:35, and the middle attack from Russia at 2:09, and the right side hit from Giba at 2:12.
