Oooh, this game! I remember back in 2001 or so, I was working at a different local video game store and we imported the Japanese copy. I had just met Dave around this time, and he came up to my house and I think we sat down and played through most of it, with Dave delivering the coup de grace to Drac himself!
I'd like to dig this out and go through it again. Thanks for the reviews, it's been an exciting month! Looking forward to the next AG. :)
Could you please do something about your lighting set up? The vast majority of your videos are so dark. I recommend googling basic cinematography and lighting. To give you a run down you really need: A Main light, background light, and Fill light to achieve a good 3 point lighting.
So to make it easy, put a light behind you somewhere, one facing you, and one more light shining on you from a side (left or right). This would really help the visibility of your videos.
Well, this series is pretty much zero-budget at the moment. I usually record during the day, but I recorded in the evening for the Castlevania reviews to have the right mood. I had 4 lights on: my ceiling light, a wall light, and 2 lamps on the night stand behind me. It's always brighter in the room than it appears in the videos. I have noticed that the videos are darker on my monitor than the raw footage that I view on my TV screen. It's a pretty big difference. I'm not sure why that happens.
And they said that Castlevania 64 was a poor predecesor to Symphony of the Night, thery obviously never played this game, at least CV 64 brought new naterial to the table. And I've seen videos of the new Chronicles videos, again no matter how you named it it's still a remAKE, AND THE VOICE CASTING WAS HORRIBLE for SotN version in this game, compared to it's original couterpart. I said it about the Conker Reloaded and so many others(Except Metroid Zero Mission). Remakes never work
This CV title for the Playstation was a real joke, first of all the title Chronicles, was the worst idea ever, It's a remake of a remake, no matter how you named it that's not gonna change. Which makes me critized the title Super CV 4 but I am not gonna get into that. I honestly cannot belive you went fotr the easy settings, I was like "DuDE! Dude!". The more remakes to the original the more it looses it's appeal.
Just picked up playstation store version today. it is sweet.

I think the sharp version is the best version of the original castlevania.
