@chrsgv I agree..."Any Day Now" is a great tune...be cool if they recorded a full-verison of the song!...I'm still wanting to hear some of the rest of the "unreleased" tunes in the vaults...Even though Richard says there isn't anything else worthy of relases...i think different...
I never saw this part before. Bob Messenger comes out of nowhere to play the tenor solo (I thought it was Doug Strawn) , then I realize he was playing bass all the time. Boy, I missed that one.
I've said it before/here goes again for those non-scroller comment people: Arguably the best (everything is always arguable) 11 minutes or so of concert music on film. Smooth, precise, flowing, and Karen vocals at peak. Yeah, and Carpenters were "goody two shoes/sugary sweet". i'll take that over the devil worship crap music that ensued (to this day)
@greenwich1754 Ironically The Carpenters even stated that they hated the "goody two shoes" image the media portrayed, and agreed with quite a few of the anti-establishment ideals at the time.
This is effectively my favorite "song" of 2010 since I never saw this performance prior. I think Karen sang even BETTER (if better than perfection is possible) while she played drums at the same time, probably because she started singing with them from the very beginning. Hindsight is just that but it was a big mistake to take her away from them in the live shows. Whatever - this performance is a gem by any standard and thank you Pav12341 for sharing this with us!
When I come across a real gem like this video I thank my lucky stars for YouTube. KC always looked happiest when she was drumming and singing. Sometimes I think she could have fought those things that lead her down the path of destruction if she could have just stayed behind the kit singing. So glad to come across these early clips where she looks joyful in her performances.
I never heard the Carpenters perform this song before but I love it! Karen on the drums and singing, this totally amazing. Today's so called performer's can't hold a candle to her. I miss her so. She was such a talent and left us far to soon.
Wow. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have to give credit to Richard. His version of "Any Day Now" is spectacular. He had a knack for choosing songs best suited for Karen.

I'd love to see this entire concert released on dvd. It would be fantastic to own such a wonderful experience as this. Amazing and flawless.

to say that KC is missed is an understatement. Her vocals are hard to describe in words, incredibly mature for her age as if she's lived the lyrics.

"baby it's you" is a beautiful song and it's sung so warmly, sweetly, and smoothly by karen that it feels a little unreal.
