  • where's your accent from? great tutorial

  • Any reason behind using 1st, 3rd, and 4th fingers instead of 1st, 2nd, and 4th? I like to make the bigger stretch with my stronger fingers.

  • Very nicely done. Thanks

  • Thanks yo !

  • Is this supposed to be a song lesson or chords, geez

  • He kinda flipped us off o_O

  • just watching the beginning, and was thinking alright not too hard, then he said, you can speed it up. god dammit!!!

  • AWESOME tutorial!!! thanks for posting!

  • LOL Great stuff say potatoes!! excellent!!! HA!!

  • @wenzealand What about whiskey?

  • Awesome thanks for sharing!!

  • Can you tell me ur amp setup for this please?

  • ouch!! playin this on the martin was tough..but I really like the acoustic version!

thanks man..wheres the accent from? Are ye a corker?

    Neil _ atlanta, Georgia

  • EXCELENT!!! THANKS!!!!!! from Perú!!!!

  • Hey I have seen the riff played so many ways, which is the right way i can play this way i've also seen it another way

  • Thnx mate awsome vid

  • nice 1.... sounds just like andy summers!!!

can you also do a similar lesson on hotel california?

  • Always ruins my nylon strings right were i slide from the 6/7 on the d string. Nothing else ruins my strings like that riff does. lol. Some rock songs go great on classical guitars , message in a bottle is one of them.

  • @Angus1966 Would love to see you play it on classical guitar!

  • @Angus1966 dont use nylon strings. there not good for professional play. i dont reccomend it.

  • This is a good video lesson !!! hand up !

  • its handy if you have large hands and long fingers. i am lucky i have a span of around 9 inches from tip of little finger to tip of thumb. but summers has not got big hands, there just extremely strong.

  • wow thanks 4 that

  • I Know a better/easier Version but good Video

  • ok guys we wont waste any time lets just tune our guitars then we'll get started

  • good video

  • thanks for this video... very usefull

  • Well taught!

  • thanx thanx very much!

  • Awesome lesson. It's right on. Can you tell me if you pick the single note part with down strokes or alternate or other technique?

  • Tnx, I've really learned this song now, you're very good to teach ; ) hi from Italy

  • i learn better when i watch someone else do it. Thanks a bunch you really helped :D

  • Excellent! When I finally buy another guitar (working on it - sold my old one some time ago) I will try this - you've inspired me!

  • Thanks for the great vid!

  • I cant reach eeet. gosh, my fingers are small

  • My fingers are long that's not the problem it's my speed but I'm practicing, thank you I finally learned how to play this song! And I have the same Ibanez just I kinda broke the thread so I can't put in a wammy bar :-/.

  • very good thanks

  • In the main rift i don't get the last bit, the slide to A, how do u slide o it if your pinkys already on it?

  • Wrists of dooooooooom! Aaah! Thanks though!

  • ta very much very useful

  • luckily i am 13 and i am 1metre 84, so my hand span is pretty big making it easier to play

  • why did we have to watch you tune? :D

  • @AndreasDaGuitarFreak so we know he can do it ;)

  • Brilliant thanks!

  • the easiest way to stretch your fingers n that position is to put your hand straight not diagonaly

  • how do you stretch your fingers like that??!

  • Comment removed

  • do you think you could driven to tears by the police

  • Awesome lesson man! But I'm pretty sure the last chord in the chorus is an F#m7 :)

  • great lesson, thanks

  • good one mate... nice , kudos..

  • Mi corazoncito- Aventura

    Please!

  • jesus h -- that stretch puts me out! andy summers is a show off and did it on perperse. nice lesson

  • @sidbarret123 I dont think Andy was trying to show off at all it's just how the riff goes and it sounds awesome. there are a billion tough riffs to play from songs. with enough practice and familiarity with the guitar it can be played.

  • The Jam - Eton Rifles

    PLEASE!

  • For the third riff of the opening, instead of going to the 7th fret on the 6th string, keeping the same pattern, start on the A string 2nd fret (d 4th fret, g 6th fret). Then the last phrase perform as the video says. This keeps you from flying all over the neck; make it easy on yourself!

  • Thanks for this it really helps But wow my fingers are sooooo sore

  • i can do it :S i didnt know i was that good, WTF my fingers are mad flexy

  • i couldnt have chosen any one better to teach me this song, thank god i chose this link!!

  • Very nice lesson! You're a good teacher - keep it up. Meanwhile I'll practice this one. (hurts my wrist!)

  • Awesome TEACHING! YOUR THE BEST!

  • My favorite song.. I have "attempted" to play it in almost every chord imaginable.. they work ok,.. but this is the best i have heard. Thanks for taking the time to share.

  • You really break it down for the novice. Excellent lesson. Appreciate it.

  • its harder for people with not so long fingers like me but my 14 yr old fingers can still do it =]

  • WOW thanks for making a weird song easy! You were very clear, good job.

  • my wrists are sore this is a challenge for me.

  • @jamgarza1 just take ur time, dont get fustrated and u'll get it eventually! :)

  • @jamgarza1 THATS WHAT SHE SAID

  • @jamgarza1 It's horrible on Acoustic guitars with really spread apart frets. It's killing me! Hahaha you're comment was posted a year ago.

a few people can´t play so good gitarre

  • @Irotane Thank you for the comment, Glad I could help :)

  • Great man, although i play it different.

Main riff think sounds better and easier starting second chord from A string (not from E string's 5th fret) and keeping on playing lower notes in the A string.

  • @SuperAdrian76 Cool I'll give it a go! thanks!

  • Hey that;s my guitar :)

  • Mate... I should have spent time checking your profile out, it says "ireland" in it for a start. and If I didn't pause the video and comment at that specific time I'd have seen the notation, haha.

Anyways, I'm an electric guitar player. Probably an intermediate player now, I havn't got any requests but I've subscribed to make sure I don't miss out on anything, I'm about to learn this song now. But when I put a lil more thought into what I want to learn next I'll comment and ask you for advice!

  • cool man, good luck with learning it, i'm sure u'll get it in no time. just play it slow and speed will come naturally.
