The only thing missing is that great guitar work.....and the hoof steps at the end of the song. Great melody! great that he dug back in the catelogue for this classic and never-appreciated song. Only true Elton fans know of this song.
@wpollock1 i agree!!!when i was young, i buyed the goodbye yellow brick road album, when it came out,and i thought:WOW this is the 70:s SGT Peppers..one of the best albums made in the 70:s!!!!LOVE IT!!this Roy Rogers live is great!!!!
@jabtot re: roy rogers post-I couldn't have worded it better myself. The innocence of youth is something to be treasured. At 50, I can't figure out why it all seemed so much simpiler back then. I have my degrees, paid my dues and yet can't buy a decent cup of coffee. Times are too hard for average folk here in Speedway, Indiana! Oh great time machine, where are you now! At least we have the tube know to see the things we missed and discover new amazing talents. God Bless Elton and Bernie!
Honestly...I get kind of emotional when I hear this song. Kind of the loss of youth from a time that was so innocent. The striving of the simple middle class to just have normalcy in their lives. God this is a classic timepiece,,,like taking a ride in a giant time machine. Bless you Elton, you made me remember being a kid during a very difficult and perilous adult life.
Homenagem justa a Roy Rogeres.
