Liam as fucking drunk and high and he just didn't want to do the show because was acoustic stuff...On the last minute Noel got up on stage and did the whole show by himself.... Noel Gallagher, during his most creative period - when songs like this were written - was certainly the best songwriter of his generation. You could really tell when he'd exhausted that supply and started writing new songs (I think it was after Be Here Now) They just weren't in the same league with the later albums. There were some shining exceptions though, like The Importance of Being Idle & The Hindu Times.

The line 'Hello, Hello, it's good to be back it's good to be back' was taken from Gary Glitter's Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again but the rest of the song was written by Noel Gallagher i.e. verses, bridge melody and lyrics. They listed it on the liner notes as a sample...but it's not really a sample as Noel is singing that part lol.

This was Noels chance to shine, because Liam decided to get too smashed to go on stage. He shined brilliantly at this gig, and actually was the first time I realized that Noel really was the genius behind it all. Even though Liam is the soul and energy of the band. I love em both <3

I still don't understand why they didn't just boot LIam and stick with Noel. Liam's voice is totally shot, Noel still has it. Nothing will be able to replace old school Liam's voice, but Noel's is fantastic in its own right and you can tell he really loves to sing his songs.

They showed this gig once, and only once, on TV - when I was about 6 - and I managed to record it on video. I must have watched it at least twice a week until my dad taped over it many years later :/ Because I idolized Oasis as a child, I'm still incredibly attached to everything they did pre 2000ish. It's a bond I can't really explain. Be Here Now was the 1st CD I ever bought, at 7 years old! I'm now 19, so they've been my favourite band for 14 years... shit I'm old, where has my life gone!

Good version but the studio version of this is so perfect that I don't think any live version comes close. The vocal track from Liam is quite possibly the best he's ever done, the drumming is perfection and the way the three guitars come together to make this huge wall of sound is amazing.

The record I had was a "Bootleg"...I buy it in a recordstore, and in the surface was a Noel's picture wearing a red/white jacket, ( the same one he's wearing at "There & Then"...and in his hand he's got wrote something and a date...the record doen't have -Listen up & Whatever, just the songs that MTv showed...I don't have the record anymore coz i gave it to my girlfriend at that time, but she left me, lol.

I would make you a copy if I would, but sorry...
