I totally agree it is abusive and these animals are kept because the human is selfish,its all about what they want not what is best for the big cats.

If its not for those reasons its greed, money and expolitation.

I WOULD NEVER keep a big cat or hold a big cat or come in contact with a big cat or kill a big cat or go to vegas (its preety near me to) and watch a big cat show...........and so on and so forth

EvansFan4ever, if fewer and fewer people go to those shows then the performers will make less and less money and will soon stop making wild animals perform like that. Have you read the story about Shequille the black leopard and what happened to him during his "training" to be a performing cat? If people realized what the animals go through maybe they wouldn't pay to watch those shows.

We can all stop this. Dont' visit zoos, ciruces, roadside zoos or take photo ops with wild cats. Call on your state senators and representatives to ban owning exoctic animals except by santuaries. Ban canned hunting in your state. Texas has 500 canned hunting facilities alone. Simply take action and stop this insanity.

fishmarc, I live in rural Montana in the Rocky Mountains. Our newspaper carried an article about a fella who kept cougars as pets. One day they turned on him and ripped his throat out. The cats were destroyed. WHY? For being mountain lions?? Their human captor should have known better, and he was illegally keeping these cats. He got what he deserved.

Conservation of a species has nothing to do with keeping the animal in captivity for US to "see" They are not meant to be kept by humans and the only reason these rescues need to exist is because people insist on using these animals in ways that make it IMPOSSIBLE to return them to the wild. ANY efforts to preserve these animals need to focus on preserving habitat so that the remaining animals in the wild CAN have a place to thrive .

I'm glad that people are outraged about big cat cruelty, but it saddens me to know that the same people who were moved by this video are going to order themselves extra cheese and pepperoni pizzas while they reflect on animal exploitation. Remember, all animals deserve consideration of their interests, not just the fascinating ones.

I agree with the overall idea that these cats shouldn't be in captivity but without them in captivity, they'd be doomed. The wild is dwindling, and not safe. Until we have enough protected areas that are safe and populations large enough, we need these animals in captivity. People are selfish and without captive animals, they will seek to see them in the wild (more damaging!) or any other way they can..

If people only realized the number of babies created, used for s short while and then dscarded where they live and suffer for many years, the rest of their lives, just beacuse they were born for people to get pix with for a few months. Are those few months of "use", a few moments in pix, worth the sacrifice of years of suffering that follow for the cats! This practice must stop!!

EXCELLENT !!! If people can get the message that their few moments of pleasure of touching an exotic cat cub causes YEARS of suffering for the cats, htey would not longer take pleasure in holding a cub.
