  • 2:05 I did NAZI that coming.

  • And it's good for nasal congestion!

  • 14 calories per tablespoon... how bout that! lol

  • Almost all of the people in the Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht were not Nazis.

  • ...not all german soldiers were Nazis....a lot were conscripted to serve in the german army..

  • must have been a little controversial in the 60's... pretty funny though

  • Hogans Heros was a light comedy set against a tragic page of history.....Thats all get over it.

  • token black guy is not historically correct. coloured people were grouped together into their own units.

  • @InTecknicolour Wel, they did not have segregated prisoner of war camps. So they still would have coloured troops along with other prisoners.

  • 2:07 JIZZED IN MAH PANTS

  • OMgoodness

  • i think they went too far with this one

  • more like hogans heros trying to sell jello

  • Jello like Jam used to be a desert treat . Anna Frank's Father used to sell Pectin and

Opectka Jam. Pectin was a fruit substance found in fruits that was used in jams and jello. I am not sure but I think Pectin is still used in Jello foods and in Holland.

  • they just descovered the lutfwaffes weakness

  • Spot-on description. You're ready for the Laff-O-Lympics. Made of bones indeed. Quite a find. Bet Hollywood eventually tries to relaunch this franchise, and loses its way in the Pol-Cor minefield.

  • thats funny

  • The actors who played the Germans in Hogan's Heroes, were all Jewish-Germans who fled the Nazis. Werner Klemperer (Klink), Sgt. Schultz (John Banner) and General Burkhalter (Leon Askin) served in the US Army during WW II. The one German who didn't serve in WW II (the guy who played Maj. Hochstetter) was from Nashville and was an excellent bluegrass player.

The Germans in Hogan's Heroes played the Nazis as bumbling fools as payback. Don't blame them.

  • After jello they go to the "showers"

  • JELLO/GELATIN = PORK !!!!!

  • All those Nazi concentration camp guards were such lovable fuzzballs, weren't they?

  • It was a POW camp, not a concentration camp. Large difference.

  • @Badgerinmaine I'm sorry. All those Nazi POW camp guards were such lovable fuzzballs, weren't they?

  • tv sure was more fun then

  • when adverts actually gave you information...

  • Man I love this show XD

But I have to say...I love how everything is so strategically placed and that everyone knows the slogan X3

    LONG LIVE HOGAN'S HEROES!

  • tvp33 Its great that youve captured some of america's history but I never knew americas population was so vulnerable to advertisement..... also how do prisoners get JELLO!?

  • @applejax89 The Underground smuggles in to them. It's a new secret weapon they are testing.

  • Just think. Someone actually got paid to think up this shit!

  • As Klink and Shultz were distracted eating jell-o Aldo Raine snuck up behind them shooting Shultz dead and then scalping him. In the meanwhile, the Bear Jew beat Klink to death with a baseball bat. He then shoved the spike of the Imperial helmet up Klink's a**.

  • Kinda makes you think what it was made from....

  • well. the helmet is one out of the first worldwar and the nazis were fighting in the second worldwar. just because they seem to be german they dont have to be nazis...

  • Hogan admits to being too full. What was he eating....he is a prisoner of war.

  • @smith1958b Aww, Hogan probably wasn't full; it was either one of his wisecracks or he was being polite to the lady.

  • And only 14 calories per table spoon! (-_-)

  • did hogans heros ever air in germany??... ive always wondered that haha

  • @marespand Hogan's Heroes is now screening in Germany as "A Cageful of Heroes". There are some snippets of the German version on YouTube somewhere.

  • @marespand yes, i read a WSJ story in the 80s about it. For the German audience, they dubbed in different stories to make the show even more ludricrous. Allegedly, Klink had a housemaid (whom we never see) who worked in the nude.

  • I would buy it xD

  • This is my favourite video title of all time; I haven't seen the video yet

  • her eyes look reptilian

  • Hilter is a pussy but this is funny

  • I would only disagree with your title and the use of the word, "Nazis". I never saw in all my years of watching "Hogans Heros", that Klink admitted being a Nazi. He was merely a officer in the Luftwaffe.

  • 11 people saw nothing.

  • This is wrong on so many levels.

  • @vraydio It is just a commercial featuring characters from a comedy show. It's nothing to take seriously.

  • I JUST made Grape Jell-o. Now I am twice as happythat I endorsed this.

  • It was just a commercial built into the show.

It was done a lot with TV shows back then.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Newkirk's smile gives me the feeling he wants to fill Carter's face with a giant plate of jello lol

  • "for.....Jello?!?!? The light desert with fresh fruit taste?"

    Fucking Klink

  • hahaha funny

  • And a Jewish nazi to, boot!

  • Just amazing. Thanks for posting this. It's a well-known historical fact that Nazis love Jello - especially with Dream Whip topping. Back in the wacky '60s stars like Dick Van Dyke and Rod Serling would appear in cigarette promos during their shows. It was just part of the job of keeping the programs on the air.

  • hitler commited suicide because the bunker he was in ran out of jello and his sticky jello booby traps and jello chambers were in to high use to salvage and now we have america ewere we never run out of jello!

  • Pun overload! XD

  • Sellouts, COUGH COUGH, Sellouts! Still a great show but really?

  • @MoltaMagician

do you understand what commercial television is about? it's paid for by showing commercials. everything you've ever seen on tv would be someone "selling out" as you put it

  • @JAGADEY Commercials on TV? This is all so new to me. I disagree about there not being a difference between selling ads and selling out by making part of your storyline filled with product placements. I want to be entertained not pitched a product and tivo can skip the commercials between the show but how can you skip this crap?

  • @MoltaMagician This was not a scene from a TV show. It is a separate commercial that aired during Carol Channing's show, during the commercial break. They are not pitching a product during the actual storyline. Comemrcials help to sell products. People see a product advertized and, if they are interested, they buy it. Commercials are also what pays for the airtime for these shows. There is no "selling out."

  • now that was a flashback.....man...those boys had it good at the prison camp....man.... Jello AND Dream Whip!!!

  • Wow, Dream Whip too!

  • That must be one lonely brother (BLACK GUY)

  • Actually, this commercial is quite clever for its time.

  • i would have had bout it

  • this is what the cast of hogan's heroes did after the show was canceled

  • @OsamaBinLooney This commercial is from 1966. Hogan's Heroes went off the air in in 1971.

  • @sapphiretaurus joking...

  • @OsamaBinLooney I figured!

  • Klink, get that idiot out of here! XD

  • that is completely insane!

  • the fat guy's last line reminds me of cartman and that discussion about rainbows

  • You know its Hogan's Heros right?

  • Looks like the Luftwaffe needed some extra funds, based on THAT amount of advertising.

  • Comment removed

  • Es gibt immer Raum für Jello

  • You know the Germans always make good stuff.

  • @CapitalistOverlord LOL! Yes they do.

  • @CapitalistOverlord The germans make good stuff..... thats why the lost the wor twice

  • @CSIS25 you spelled "war" wrong.

  • @history380 opps omg ROFLMFAO

  • @history380 wow

  • this jell-o is delicious! heil hitler!

  • @MrDragonslayer314159 Screw Hitler, I think we found our new Fuhrer! Heil Jello!!

  • Jello probably did not exist then.

  • @vancouver1907 yes it did, look --> /watch?v=jCKxWQCs3f0&feature=related :D

  • Awesome show... it was a half hour of making fun of the Nazis.

  • ........wtf?

  • Dream Whip contains sugar, dextrose, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (coconut and palm kernel oils), modified cornstarch, propylene glycol monostearate (emulsifier), sodium caseinate (from milk), and less than 2% of cellulose gel, cellulose gum, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, natural and artificial flavor, acetylate mono- and diglycerides (emulsifiers), sodium silicoaluminate (anticaking agent), yellow 5, yellow 6. Many of these ingredients are considered generally unhealthful.

  • Was the whole show just an ad run?

  • what cant nazis do i ask you

  • @YerJob um anything good i can tell u that

  • Give the inmates fluoride, that is what hitler did to keep the people docile.

  • "They're bombing Dresden tonight." "Never mind that, give me more DreamWhip"

  • lol. Jello is only for superhumans.

  • "I know nothing!" lol i was just waiting for him to say that XD

  • Nazis were the craziest Peoples!

  • Gay

  • @hotbod6925 Just like you.

  • I love the fruity taste.

  • God,someone give that woman some riitalin.

  • 1:02 he is in a POW camp and counting calories! lol

  • I thought this was M*A*S*H*

  • @killerz55 wrong show wrong war

  • Man, I wish I would have the chance to fight and get captured in World War 2!

  • Who knew the Nazi's were so zany???!!!

  • What 4kidshater said, lol.

  • you people read into this shit too much. learn to fucking laugh

  • Carol Channing :D

  • see nazi likes jello, he's not such a bad guy

  • another misleading heading.

  • @blueeyesofice how is it mialeading if its got people acting like Nazis?

  • That commercial is hilarious. Loved it.

  • isnt jello made from bones lol yuk

  • buts its light desert with fresh fruit taste!

with dream whip!, which has more than the flavor of whip cream!

  • no its made from animal fat, gelatin is a nice word for animals fat

  • @mrssoto214 no sir its made from bones

  • is it possible to get gelatin (collagen?) made at home? could i make it in my kitchen? (it says hydrolyzed collagen..)

  • @mrssoto214 also from cartlige

  • put a little DDREEAMM whip on TOP!

    silence!

  • greatest comercial ever!

  • geeze lighten up, it's just a fucking commercial. the Germans were just fighting for folk and fatherland, stop being such haters

  • If we are going to site reality vs. Hollywood, Officers, NCOs and Enlisted where never quartered together in the same facility for rank privileges/security/potential escape reasons.

  • Now that is using one's imagination!

  • lmfao - Hogan's Heroes Jello Commercial - how come they didn't show this to me in film school?

  • There were several kinds of POW camps run by different organizations in the German hierarchy. While allied prisoners of war couldn't expect decent conditions or treatment in any of them, allied flyers stood a better chance of survival in camps run by the Luftwaffe, not the Nazis. For what it's worth, Hogans Heroes depicts allied flyers in a Luftwaffe run camp, a much different kind of facility than one run by the Gestapo or the SS...

  • you are right, the nazis had more respect for flyers than avarage soldiers.

  • No. No. The LUFTWAFFE, not the Nazis, had more respect for flyers...

  • How did they hide Carol Channing from Klink and Schulz?

  • well they did give kinch some jello too and yes carol was sent to the clothes rack

  • JELLO was a rare and a nice treat for the soldiers of world war 2.

  • This is truly freaky! Since it's set in a Nazi POW camp in WWII, is the jello flavor Fruity Fuhrer? Of maybe Adolf's Aryan Almond? How about Goosestep Gooseberry? Or perhaps Foamy Facist Frappe? And what in the wide wide world of sports in Carol Channing doing in Stalag 13? Maybe she's in reality a proctologist spy who's trying to find out from some Nazi scientist in Hammelburg if there really are rings around Uranus!!!

  • Nobody's going to mention sending Kinchloe to watch the door while the rest of the prisoners enjoy dessert?

  • He just told him to close the door

  • Now I'm craving jello and whip cream

  • having jelly now. deelish!

  • Carol Channing as Ilsa Koch?

  • I know nothinnng... NNNOTHING!!!

    Hahahahaha <3 Sgt. Schultz!

A shame they cancelled the show. It was awesome haha.

  • I want jello!!

  • Talk about eating the evidence!

  • hogans heroes lol

  • Ironically this show was very popular in Germany, Dubbed into German they use the proper accents and bits for the actors. Schultz apparently sounds like a bumpkin and Klink an arrogant aristocrat. Inside jokes in German must make it much funnier.

  • @mduncan36 Nice bit of trivia...thanks!

  • funny...and how shamelessly exploitive the advertisers were! It's like a dancing pack of cigarettes.

  • What manner of US Army guys would adore Carol Channing? This was before "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," keep in mind...

  • this is hogans heroes

  • Both Banner (Schultz) and Klemperer (Klink) were of Jewish decent who had to flee Europe in their child hood. I believe they said they enjoyed playing the parts of scattered brained Nazi.

  • @candr Thank you for sharing that interesting information.

  • @candr Actually it was in their contracts that the characters would never to be portrayed in a positive light. The nazis were always portrayed as bumbling fools.

  • @McNabbulous True, but when interviewed at that time they both made it known that they liked to put a little extra twist to their characters.

  • I wish they'd still make funny commercials like that. Nowadays all the commercials are politically correct, dull and boring. As for Jello being sold by Nazis, somebody needs to tell whoever started this thread to enter the real world and that Werner Klemperer and John Schultz weren't really Nazis, they were actors portraying Nazis.

  • i get two thumbs down for speaking the truth, seems the judges are corrupt! LOL

  • i see no nazis, just a group of actors selling a product. *shrugs*

  • ok jell-o carol channing and poking fun at wartime atrocities????

  • This is how we won world war II

  • @4kidshater death by diarrhea and disgusting american food ?

  • @sewagedweller yesh

  • lmao

  • was that actually in an episode or was that a commercial? that's not sarcasm i really want to know

  • Looks like a commercial to me.

  • Yes, this was an actual episode.

This was also the ground breaking episode where Colonel Klink is discovered to be having a homo-erotic relationship with Sgt. Shultz; Le Bow turns out to be a French Nazi double-agent who rats-out the rest of the bunch; And, in what has to be the "feel good" ending of the series, they all happily crack jokes and one-liners as they are herded into the gas chamber at bayonet point.

    (It was a commercial.)

  • @TheRebel2007

witch season is it and named?

  • It was a commercial in the show. Back then they would have the actors do ads for the products that payed the bills. But it never was part of the on going show. You see a lot of them back then, Hillbillies, Lucy show, etc.

  • @candr From what I've read, the actors of the 1950s and 60's tv shows, were very glad to be asked to do commercials such as this, because the pay was very good, for little time put out.

  • thats some good add placement skills

  • New from Books-on-Tape:

"Mein Kampf", read by Carrol Channing. With sound effects by Michael Winslow!

  • After they eat their Jello they're gonna take turns banging Carrol Channing except Le Bow (he's gay)

  • It's always the commercials which tell us more about their time than the shows which they sponsored.

  • rofl good one

  • NEW JEW-LO XD....but seriously im happy hitler lived :D

  • Nazis also have there enemies as allies.

  • Ah the Germans, you just can't stay mad at them.

  • Okay first, there weren't any blacks that were prisoners of the Nazis. Second, they would've killed him for taking that helmet.

  • @mallard003 yeah there were blacks in concentration camps just not alot of them

  • It's a cheesy advert for jelly, not a serious documentary on the life of POW's in the second world war.

  • HAHAA! See those nazis weren't so bad! they ate jello! All you ppl racist against nazis should watch this!

  • 'Ze light dezert vith light, froot taist?'

  • I do believe all four principal german characters were played by jewish actors and lebeau was also jewish,

  • While this show ("Hogan's Heroes") was considered controversial by some, the producers pointed out that most of the actors playing germans, including John Banner (Schultz) and Werner Klemperer (Klink) were actually Jewish, as were "LeBoe" and one or two others, I believe. From their point of view it was done to mock the nazis, who were always portrayed as bumbling gullible buffoons. Right or wrong? I don't know, just passing along some information.
