I first heard this when i was 10years old,dragged away from my dad and school mates,by my mother,to a land far away,to appease her lust of a new begining and a new life,this was on a cassette tape i found,in my new bedroom, in my new unformiliar house,i popped it in my walkman and this song burst into my head, i cried;i held on to this song for my life,it was my salvation for many a sleepless night,i rewound it again and again until i fell asleep,always dreaming of that promised land, tQ ub40 x

I bought this album the day it was released (did not realise it was just out), as i saw it when i was out in Leicester and when i got home, i found it had a free 12" limited edition single in it !! Bonus :-)

This and Present Arms are without doubt their best work. It seems that after this, the dirty world of commercialism had them in its vice like grip.....I recall "red, red wine" with a cold shudder.Brrrrr.

Saw UB40 perform live in Brighton on Sunday night - they were still absolutely superb (despite Ali Campbell having been replaced by his brother Duncan) and performed the entire "Signing Off" album from 1980: a defining record of my youth. Happy memories.

im 25 and remember when mum used to listen to all these classic UB40 tracks in the late 80's and early 90's, i strongly agree with paulp04 regarding the older tracks that are so much more better and have gotton better with time - still most of their 90's stuff was good stuff! its all about change change change but some things are best left as they are me thinks - this has to be my personal fav, such a bad track but also v. sad at the same time, always hits me when i hear, proper stuff this!!!!!!
