I don't think Tegan absolutely hates this song, but she doesn't really like it any more. She can't relate to it now, in a video she said that it made her sound like a dependent teenager...something to that extent any way.
I don't think she'll play it live again....ever. Just like with most of (if not all) the songs from TBOA, UFLO...and even a great many Sara and her won't play from IIWY.
I really like this, I don't know why she would hate this song. Its almost hypnotizing, it's kind of got a snappy big-deal attitude to it, if that makes any sense, lol.

yeah, this demo along with the rest of them are just amazing. i love being able to listen to a musician's like creative process. and stuff. i think it's great.
Has Tegan ever explained why she hates this song? She played a 5 second spot of it while playing in Texas (I believe it was Texas) a few weeks ago. I always figured she either grew out of this song or it reminds her of something.
I think its because this song was saying something back when it was written, and now, she is a totaly different person. I think it reminds her of a time she doesnt want to remember.

yup. i've grown up right along side them. we are the same age. they used to play university shows around where i lived. the first I hear them was at a show in Saskatoon, then shortly after that they were on jonovision and then david letterman. now they are everywhere!! but i love it cause they're still pretty underground. the only downfall is their shows don't cost $5 anymore LOL
waw that must've been amazing to see them! Did you get any of it recorded? I saw the Letterman show they did, they sounded so good! I love this song, but Tegan hates it!! I love how their voices have changed over the years but they sound AMAZING whether it's how they sounded at the beginning or now. They are just amazing, by far my favourite band :-)
