There is a stream that passes my house and my farmland about half a mile Long, no one ever Fished or Fishes on this stream, it leads in to a river bout 10 mile away, Anyhow my Frend came up with the mad idea of Fishing, I told him there wud be notin in it, when i told him i havnt even Fished it he went and got his rods, he suspected barbel and chub, i cud not beleive it in 1 hour and a half he caught 11 and i caught 9, i fish it all the time, if you genuinely want to fish it, you are welcome wb

I'm not sure if there are any free stretches of the Avon. The best advice you could get is to visit a local tackle shop in the area.

@corpsemunger There is a free stretch in Chippenham where I live. Bristol avon. Produces ALOT of barbel and big chub. My biggest chub was 6lb 4oz from there.

Barble best catch in the world! I can remember my first night fishing after barble on the Wiltshire Avon, I caught 8 ranging between 5-8lb and my mate caught 9. We never had a night like that ever again. What a night!
