  • My favorite song by Sheryl Crow

  • @judyhhs same

  • I am still trying to wrap my mind around the beauty of this song. The voice is fantastic...I really like it.

  • Sheryl Crow is one of my best singers, because she sings with emotions, from her experiences, from her life, to ours. Through the spaces and time. From an unspecified time, to infinite. Beautiful voice, beautiful stories. Thanks!

  • ♆★★★★★☤

  • Randy Bush version is better.

  • Sheryl crow popularity boosted after performing for michael jackson in 1987, bad tour :) If you all are fan of her, you should look up the bad tour billie jean, she was one of the singers

  • She is most talented, has wonderful appereance and energz and she is very beautiful.

  • Another amazing Sheryl Crow song!!!

  • @tnmc85 - i always thought the songs meaning was though her parents taught her ideals - she had noboby - she just keeping running - just keep moving - "Past the arms of the familiar

And their talk of better days

To the comfort of the strangers

    Slipping out before they say

    so long

Baby loves to run" - sort of sad

  • The Huxley comment is clever because he died on the same day as JFK's assassination, and thus was overshadowed and never given tribute to. So I believe Sheryl is paying tribute to Huxley's relevance by for once treating Nov. 22nd as memorable because it's the day he died, when most would say "born on Nov. 22nd, the day JFK died"

  • @Shack1212 And oddly, I know a woman born on that day who this song could describe very well. She even looks a bit like the girl in the video. Odd coincidence.

  • I LOVE this song ... thanks !

  • credit due to all who made this.....go Sheryl go

    Release it now...............

  • thats amanda marshall

  • Interesting she mentions Aldous Huxley in the lyrics.

  • @scwomanchangeling2

all musicians love aldous huxley because their apart of the same agenda.

  • great song ..... i love it

  • its the Hammond organ and Leslie speaker and strat.

  • good comments here, learned a lot. fell in love with her 1995 live version of this song.(56,000 views)

  • This album just got re-released as a three-disc set---the original album remastered, a second disc of outtakes (including Led Zep's "Dyer Maker"!) and a third disc featuring all the videos from this period. Sounds great!

  • EXCELLENT....i love you this song of 1995 year..Great singer Sheryl Crow.

  • I miss the truth in her songs, songs like this, songs that make you feel right there

  • You guys just don't get it. One of the cleverest pieces of songwriting, if you listen to the lyrics, the parents in the song would be more moved by Huxley's death than Kennedy's. They are more philosophically inclined, they now that politics are ephemeral, basic universal truths are much more important. But they

weren't able to be good parents, because they were too taken up with their own

    selfish motives.

  • Well, maybe you are just interpreting a bit too much here...

It is just about a young woman who doesn't like to stay in one place for too long. However, this is mostly due to her hippie mom ("And her mama believed everybody could free/so she got high high high") and political activist dad who told her to run in order to deal with life's problems. Crow sings from the point of view of someone that the young woman got to know well before running again...

  • 1:30

three piano chords = pivots like some giant musical see-saw, spooky fairground

minor chord prog, spine just tingles

drums, organ, slim guitar (very DSOTM)

    gaps just before the beat

soul voice, wow, modern day Janis?

    Grammy winner, surely?

    you know, Ron

    isn't it

    jumpers for goal-posts

  • Great on the single All I wanna do

  • The drummer, Kevin Gilbert, is a extraordinary musician as well, search him up on youtube!

  • this is one of her finest songs.. on her second album. I just wish i could get the first un-released album.

  • This was by far Sheryl's best album!

  • what a masterpiece of modern pop.

  • Such a Great song by Sheryl Crow!!!!!

  • February 11, 1962 (1962-02-11)

  • so been there.....beautiful song

  • The best album aver.

  • linda demaissssssssssssssssss essa musica.

  • the original lyrics go like this.......run baby.. run baby... run baby... run baby.. run.... from the white man.. lmao

  • run away...........

  • bellissima questa canzone, soprattutto l'interpretazione di Ambra Marie ( X Factor 2)

  • yes that is correct (about Aldoux Huxley ) as I was also born on Nov 22, (196_) but JFK shooting is all that my mother used to talk about and mirror it too......

  • Run for your life.....................baby !

  • Love song

  • wonderful song

  • Anybody got any ideas what this song is about?

She was born in November 1963 the day Aldous Huxley died???

  • I personally find this lyric brilliant. Aldous Huxley died on November 22, 1963... the same day JFK was assassinated. Huxley's death went largely unnoticed that day because Kennedy's tragedy stole the spotlights. By phrasing it "November, 1963, the day Aldoux Huxley died" as opposed to "the day Kennedy died", I feel she's saying that the birth of the girl in her song was a quiet event of the day... not as significant as other things happening... it wasn't the headlining event of the day...

  • stole? I believe she has to pay royalties to, and receive permission from Mr. Gilbert. You know a lot about the busic biz. Probably made him lotsa moola. Down with haters.

  • I always wondered about that part of the song, I think your right.

  • about what, who is right.......are talking about the lyrics .... is not her birthday dumb

  • @thegbo

In 1965, The Newbeats a southern-based Frankie Valli/Lou Christie wannabe band who scored a #1 back in 1964 w/"She loves Bread and Butter", had a hit called Run Baby Run

  • @thegbo Exactly, or maybe the day the Brave new world died... the end of an utopia.

  • @thegbo I did not know that, thanks for the insight.

  • @thegbo Wow, what a good analysis. Huxley is perhaps my favorite writer, by the way.

  • one of my favorites

  • stupendaaaaaaaaaaa questa song

  • so run...

  • This song makes me cry, it's just .. *_*

  • perfect song, it reminds me of my childhood! :D

  • canzOne bellixima <3

  • This song is..........amazing, fantastic.....

  • ok i have NEVER EVER EVER heard of this song and i wrote a song with this chors i was so shocked and i am soo upset... i can't put it anywhere... ever. ugh i feel like crying

  • Dont worry about that..it doesnt matter if she is famous, its your song and thats it..dont feel bad about that..By the way Garbage the have one song with the same title and the chorus says de same thing "run baby run" .. Just Feel happy okay?

  • we all feel this, my mom VS step-dad, so for US sing it- we got away, screw him...we ran...and LIVED

  • She didn't mind sharing the fame. She was blamed for someone killing himself it wasn't her fault! I agree the music has never been like TNMC album!

  • When she split from the TNMC, because she didn't want to share the money or fame, I believe, her music never was the same.

  • me too

  • great song, they way it starts , so masterful.

  • Great times =)

  • One Sexy Bitch!

  • of course i love Sheryl Crow

  • Great song but don't get the video..

  • wow una super rolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa:)

  • Masterpiece. You gotta love Sheryl.

  • amazing voice

  • everybody loves this song

    am i right?

  • She is known outside of America, but Aimee Mann is not. Which makes me wonder, do they share the same fanbase in America ?

  • Still one of my favorite albums of all time.

  • yeah, thanks to Kevin Gilbert, the real Genious behind that albun.

  • "Tuesday Night Music Club"? Is it that good?! I wanna buy it! I'm obsessed with "All I Wanna Do" and this track. They remind me to my chilhood. :)

  • One of the best record ever....

  • I've been a Sheryl fan since I was maybe 10 (over a decade ago), but somehow never listened to TNMC until recently. I was blown away. Very, very good album. And I got it for $2 at Half-Price Books!

  • You lucky bastard!! Just $2??? That's incredible. Hehe!

  • I listen to it almost daily. Well, specific tracks. It's the only album I have from her. I was 7 when this came out, so I'm in the same boat as you.

  • Great! I've been thinking of buying her Very Best compilation, but maybe start with TNMC is the best. I think I like her so much not only because her music is so good, it's that she's so so beautiful!

  • i was 2 when it came out lol

but i have her very best collection and would definately recomment it :)

  • This song is so great! Easily as good or better than her hits!

  • When Sheryl Crow debuted she was the hottest thing out there. Music and looks.

  • The day Aldous Huxley died, JFK was assassinated and CS Lewis died too.

  • brilliant, great voice and very touching lyrics

  • Was this song written for the Minnesota Vikings running backs~??

  • this is very good...

i was born in this year xd

  • GREAT SONG.

  • the day aldous huxley died???? what a weird piece of lyric, yet cool.

  • I am a huge Sheryl Crow fan and never caught this. What year was this from, please?

    Keith

  • 1993, from the album "Tuesday Night Music Club" !

  • I was only 4 or 5 when this came out. Wow this is pretty good :]

  • a melhor música da Sheryl

    =]

  • Agradeça ao Kevin Gilbert então.

  • This has always been my personal favorite, although all of the songs on the first album, Tues Night Music Club, were superb (Especially "What we Can") this one was the most touching to me! Have been a fan since I was 10 years old, when that album came out!

  • me gusta mas la version cantada por RANDY BUSH

  • i ve always love this song

  • esta cancion de sheryl es una de las mejores k tiene tambien strong enough son lo maximo k sera de ella

  • ????

  • i really love this song! It justhas a very soothing and saddening feel to it. Could anyone really tell me what this song is about. I figure it's about a girl running away from her past. Though that's all i can get so far.

  • Yes, it's about abandonment and running as a coping strategy.

  • Best song!

  • this is one of sherlys best songs apart from favourite mistake and strong enough!

  • This was the first impression of Sheryl Crow for all of us in the U.S. The other song (All I Wanna Do) popped up a few weeks later. At this moment in time, she was an unknown.

  • I give it a 4. I miss Eric Clapton for this type of song. (He adds the BASS).

  • Love this song and cd

  • Great tune !

  • "Tuesday Night Club" should be on EVERYONE'S must own list...

If you do not already have it then shame on you

    GO GET IT

  • I have that c.d. and I love it. This is actually one of my favorite songs.

  • Honestly, who doesn't like Sheryl Crow

  • Exactly! She ROCKS <3

  • Sheryl was pretty nice in this video...The song-i like it!!So sweet....

  • wonderful! i have so nice memories because of this song. feel the sense of escaping and especially freedom in its tones. :-))) ;)

  • I always liked sheryl's first album! Fine ass singer and babe!

  • She never married Lance, they broke up two years ago. Fun video and song!

  • Multumesc. MONICA!!!

  • The chorus on this song is so good it kills me....in a good way.

And yes...I can hear a Beatles vibe....but not like in a cheap "rip off" kind of way.

  • This song always reminds me of The Beatles' Abbey Road. Very beatlesque sound.

  • ha, exactly my thought

  • For some strange reason she has always reminded me of Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City. Maybe its the super skinny thing. :) I love her nontheless.

  • (1) I don't think she was ever "married" to Lance. (2) Red, gold (yellow), black and beige color scheme of video inspires me to paint a micro portion of a segment of this video (any other painters out there share my observation/vision?) And (3) I agree, Lance is a Dumbass for letting her get away...:)

  • she married lance armstrong.. what a dick

  • this was in her more 'cuter' days than the kinda 'Dykie image' we see in todays videos! (even though she's married! To whom, again? clapton?) ...Anyone...?

  • Lance Armstrong

    Dumbass

  • gosh, from boring to crazy in only one day! does Sheryl get a cut from your Nude Photo sales? run, baby, run. Run a dating website?

  • so run baby, run baby, run baby, run baby, run....amazing!
