  • ehhhh, needs a lot of work.

  • sounded to me like you ended up going flat anyway!!

  • piano...bad move...killed the dynamics of the piece...

  • i agree...i did this piece when i was a senior in high school with my choir, and not to toot my own horn or anything but it BLEW this out of the water. and we did it memorized...the sheet music is cutting away from the connection with the director

  • the piano is supposed to be for rehersal only

  • There is a piano but it's really quiet.

  • Thank you all for your comments... it was very educational (didn't even know it was suppose to be done a Capella. Those of you who are curious, this choir was a gathering of many choir (from different faiths) and we all joined to do three numbers (one very complicated) and we only had three rehearsals. So as somebody said, better a little piano than the risk of going flat.

  • Great job!

The acoustics are so cool, and you guys sound great. =)

    Beautiful!

  • Ah no! Why is there piano?!?! Fantastically sung, but the piano totally ruined it for me.

  • Same here, even though I play piano myself!

    Very well done nevertheless :)

  • ahhhhhh this is sooooo gorgeous one of my favorites- LOVE LOVE LOVE chamber music!!!!!!!

  • why are you doing this with piano? bad idea...notice it says "for rehearsal only" it gets rid of some of the impact the song has when it is sung acapella.

  • some choirs can't handle doing it acappella.

Its safer to do with piano than to let it go really flat.

  • go on frank ticheli website and you can a full recording.

  • He only has Earth Song recorded on his website. :(

  • I wish I had a studio recording of this song. I can't find one.

  • My college (Mansfield University) has a recording of this song on their "Choral Kaleidoscope" CD...I could get ordering information for you.

  • this is so much better a cappella and with a bit more dynamics... but nice job

  • Yeah I agree - according to the score, the piano part is to only be used for rehearsal, not for actual performance. So I definitely agree with you there. But the performance itself was good. The choir did this piece justice.

  • yeah my choir is doing this song, but we've only had two days rehearsal time (granted some people already knew it, but still), so we're doing it with "light piano". I really wish we could do it a cappella though, becuase it really does take away from the sound of the piece to use a piano. Oh well.

  • i sang this song for all county last year, it's so gorgeous and definitely one of my favorite songs i've ever performed.
