So this is the scene where Memories was supposed to be played. I like Memories though I didn't play the game on PSX... Why didn't they put it in the WotL ? =(
Hey guys, gamefaqs is running rivalry rumble right now and Delita vs Ramza is in the bracket. Be sure to vote them as they are up in a couple of days, just to show the world that FFT is the best game ever!!
I prefer the remake. Its more in-depth, love the cutscenes, and they speak old english. I personally think they'd be speaking old english in that era of Ivalice's history. God, I wish this was an anime.
Sorry but, while the animation is very pretty, I can't stand the lame ass accents and Ye Olde English that they are spouting. I have to say I prefer the original.
@MisterEviscerator I appreciate the Old English style, myself. I find it very difficult to play the original version because of the massive amount of typos that actually do interfere, at least to me, with the meaning that they are trying to evoke.
@wee187 The Ye Olde English would be more tolerable if it were used better; there are several scenes weakened by the fact that the writers can't write a decent-sounding outburst of rage in the style they're writing in. (protip: when you have a character yell at another in anger, /don't make it a question/, and especially don't make it overwrought and unrealistic.)
@camrocg Delita's voice actor tended to slip in and out of the accent, mostly in scenes that require more emotional backing. Not exactly professional but it's excusable since the voice acting itself is very good.
I just got to this part today. ...In the ps1 version.... which I'm playing on my psp... But I kinda like the ps1 version better, haha. No idea why, even though it is pretty here. :)
@Ashin809 I have this title. A Masterpiece from the moment i saw this scene in the japanese trailer. A thought ran across my mind, just how well will this sell? And it did extremely well even if the battles were slowed down because of the way the disc was read and ruined sound quality here and there it was great just even hearing correct pronounciations of the character's names like "Ram-za" "De-Lee-ta" "Dy-se-darg" All of which i never knew before
They added some nice animated sequences and some extra stuff, but the actual game runs inferior to the ps1 version. It's a shame it has so much slowdown during summons and spell effects. :(
Delita isnt nobility. Only Ramza is. But he lived close enough to them that he is almost treated like a son by Ramza's father. At the same time, this gives him ideas. He begins to think that he deserves it and that he should have it. And with the death of Tietra that pretty much confirms his attitude.
@twobitmage try search for this: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions- New Song (Hero's Theme Piano). It is the theme that you want. I dont know why but i cant paste the link here
I really regret not being able to finish this fking epic game cuz my psp broke. Now with the psp go you cant even play this game cuz its only on umd QQ
thanks for uploading , great scene , remember when i was like 10 or so , and watched this on ps1 , i didnt know that you could do a wisthle out of grass/leaves , ever since i relate to this
@darklife8 In gameplay, it'd cause problems for his sprite, what with the little amount of frames it has. However, in the cutscene he has one because their models are based on their official artworks for the game.
@SirFuzzi In wind like that though a cape will keep you a bit warmer, especially when you're wearing all that armor that's designed around keeping you protected... not necessarily around keeping you warm.
I loved the original game and they did a good job with remaking it. Though in the original Delita says "Remember when father taught us to play the reed flute?" I wonder why they changed it to a blade of grass?
I really just don't like Ramza's voice in these cutscenes, always felt he had a more masculine voice, an actual guy voice lol that was stern similar to what Zalbaag and Dycedarg would have, but smoother.
I haven't played this on PS1 before, but it's actually my favorite PSP game now. Love everything about this game, a true classic & I wish there'd be more sequels to this game :)
Playstation was better. Now everyone thinks it's all about graphics and shit. I mean, I know it's the same gameplay and everything but I just like the old graphics better.
@BigBen9719 By "shit" I assume you mean story? I do agree with you however. I find it disgusting when they properly translate a game like they did with this one. I mean, actually having the characters speak sensibly? It is truly an abhorrent crime.
@BigBen9719 They are almost exactly the same. I mean seriously, they threw in a few wonderfully animated scenes that were cell shaded with voices and you are mad because of this? All War of the Lions did was improve upon the original. If it was really seeking to SHOW OFF DA GRAFFICS then they would of used the Crisis Core engine. I mean seriously
ug, they changed some of the character names. i just got done playing that scene on the original when i found out this one even exsited. "teta" is his sister and "algus" gave him crap
i stand corrected, didnt relieze they were miss translated. still use to the psx version though, so that one is stuck in my mind. i may never think of the "real names" and there real names. then again, i finnaly thought of areith as her name from FFVII
Animated cutscenes, voice acting, and a total lack of Engrish make this about 1,000 times better than the original cutscene. I remember just laughing every time this scene came up in the psx version because the "reed flutes" made such a crappy little sound effect.
HOLY SHIT!!! I remember this scene from PS1 Tactics ... I'm literally blown away. The voice actng is SUPERB. The dialogue is SUPERB. That's a great representation of Ramza and Delita !!!
This is the only cutscene I've seen ,after just searching it from Youtube, of the PSP version of this game which I don't have.
The drawings are AMAZING. Although, I did love the sprites and they had their own quirks and charms too...full animation like this is pretty bad ass with that style of drawings...although the voice acting is a little too over done and overly dramatic.
I loled hard. I too, believe ramza and delita should be allowed to abandon their adventure, and embark on a new, more passion filled endeavour, in each other's arms.
Yeah, I got used to the US translation, too. But they were incorect in 99%. The same goes to "Aeris" from FF7 which should have been "AeriTH" just like "SephiroTH" (Both names end with same character). Square was hiring very lazy translators. But fortunately they're now hiring better ones ;)
so you enjoyed ff12 more..fine, dosent make it better in any way, the art work/music/story in ff9 was far more creative and heartfilled and soulfull then it was in ff12, enix blows now....fact
bleh, I....really didn't like 9....at all, I didnt like the characters or story for 12, the only thing it had going for it was the battle system. The licensing grid was a joke too.
