(2) Robbing Medicare and SocialSecurity to fund this healthcare bill.
(3) First 10yrs adds $500 billion to deficit. Second 10yrs adds $1.5T
You read it right, 2nd 10 years adds $1.5 trillion to the deficit. Obama's team has not yet responded to this criticism by Republican Senators. Majority of Americans do not want this bill passed, but Democrats will try to jam it through using reconcilation tactic.
We could afford health care if Congressman were on Social Security, didn't give themselves raises and didn't get a pension after only 4yrs.
This is the only time a President has started the ball rolling for health care for all of us. It appears the Insurance companies have Congress in their pocket, Congress keeps stalling! This Buffet must be getting some big buck to turn on the President!
I'm amazed anyone thinks the govt. can run a healthcare system. Here's some history. They run the post office,it's broke. They run social security,it's broke. They run Amtrak,it's broke. They run Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae,they're broke. They run Medicare/Medicaid,those programs are not only broke, they've been defrauded for years and the govt. can't even stop that! They run the budget and it's 1.6 TRILLION in the RED. The one thing govt. "runs" well is "running" through our tax dollars!
I am lucky to have VA care, a government run health care system. I can tell you It is the best health care I have ever experienced and I use to have one of those "golden" private coverages when I was younger.
I'm surprised you didn't include the Armed forces and our space program. If Congress would do the right thing these programs would work! It's e-mail that is putting the Post office out of business not government. Of course you never heard of our Congressman giving themselves raises, cost of living, pension and oh yes, government Heath Care! Congress allows companies to charge outrageous prices when selling to the government. Its Congress! Vote em out, get someone new!
@kremlack1 That is quite possibly the least informed statement I've ever read in my entire life. Post Office - Killed by Internet, Social Security - We've known it was going to go broke since Carter and through 1 Democrat and Three Republican presidents we've yet to hear a solution, Amtrak - Record number of riders due to hike and gasoline prices resulting in adjusted and profitable budget, so you have no clue what you're talking about there, Fannie Mae are private companies you fucking dipshit.
I completly AGREE THis Bill needs to be scrapped and redone. Obama needs to get over the fact thatt they "worked to hard"on this curent Bill.. He needs to wake up and listen to the American people who foolishly elected him... Vern your a great man doing a great job keep up the good work!!
Ending denial for pre-existing conditions makes no sense unles you also put a cap on premiums. Allowing Insurance companies to corss State lines makes no sense either, who would have jurisdiction? And finally if so many are against a public option then what Republicans should do is force a vote to eliminate Medicare. If that fails then those on Medicare who do not like Government run Health Care should burn in their Medicare cards.
Well that is the bad side of medicare. But the good side, which far outweighs the bad side is that it does take care of people 65+. What would so many people 65+ do without it? Private insurers are not about to insure 65+. Heck they won't insure 50+.
Medicare fraud is rampant, because our Congressman allows crooks to fatten their pockets! Vern is right there with them, what has he done to stop Medicare fraud before President Obama was elected?
Are all these Congressman in space somewhere or have they been doing Hard time! Why is it that someone else always tells Congress whats wrong, then guys like Vern Stand up and repeat it!
Right on, Vern. The goal of health care reform should be to reduce costs in the current system not build a totally new one. Scrap Obama care and fix what we have.
Americans are becoming fearful of this new government and their strong arm tactics.. YES!!!!!Rewrite the health bill and while your in session, suggest reemploying the constitution that once held this country up as a great God fearing country., Not obama fearing. i know you are fighting with ball and chain. But, we elected you with faith and and continue to have faith in you and your ability to serve with foresight and integrity. God Bless you, Linda Rogells
I'm really tired of the Republicans (and the Democrats) letting special interests control the way our country is run. We've waited long enough - it's time for reform! The half way measures you propse will do nothing but continue to let the insurance companies call all the shots. Enough!
Obamacare needs to be dropped...period. Fix Medicare/Medicaid. The President won't consider tort reform as a part of the bill...he isn't doing ANYTHING in the best interest of the majority of American citizens. Stop wasting our tax dollars throwing money at this poisonous bill. Obama is guilty of what his supporters said former Pres Bush did and that was to ignore the polls. Majority says NO to Obamacare.
I think the American people have waited long enough. I've been through the ringer with Health Insurance Companies and I gotta be honest I am very disappointed in the Republican position. Do you stand with the people or with the Insurance Companies?
I understand the desire and need to scrap the current healthcare bill. But this should not be done just to stall progress for stalling's sake, and not in a way that continues the way insurance companies run roughshod over the public. I still believe the best way to move forward is to have Medicare cover everyone. If people want more insurance than the basic Medicare coverage, they can get it, just like it is now. But this way everyone has basic coverage and cannot be dumped.

The real costs are:
(1) 10 years of taxes for 6 years of benefits.
(2) Robbing Medicare and SocialSecurity to fund this healthcare bill.
(3) First 10yrs adds $500 billion to deficit. Second 10yrs adds $1.5T

Medicare fraud is rampant (billions)and in huge debt - the perfect example of government-run health insurance.

@dkkght46
the house already passed it.
the senate already passed it even with a "super majority" because of the fillibuster archaic procedure abused by repubs.
So lets have a deal"
those who are voting no to everything, shall get "zero" credit. Those who vote for the health care bill, jobs bill, shall get the credit.
You vote against...like mccain voted against GI bill. than we vote against you
