Yes, this boot can be used to treat injuries to the arch, such as chronic plantar fasciitis, where immobilization is recommended to allow the soft tissues in the area a chance to heal.
just got mine today love so far I have a broken ankle but still have to use crouches not allowed to put weight on it yet doc's order but love being able to take it off to let my leg breath
Thanks for your question. Yes, the product could be used to help heal a metatarsal fracture indeed. Will the doc give one? That's a question that depends on many factors such as your insurance coverage, and other costs associated with seeing the doctor. Many patients purchase directly from DME-Direct and send their invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement according to their durable medical equipment coverage. In many instances it's faster and more economical to purchase online.
I have one now for a hairline fracture to my foot and I think I would prefer a plaster cast. This aircast is very heavy and bulky and very hard for me to walk in as I am unbalanced with it and need crutches as well. Really wishing the Dr put me in a plaster cast instead.
I have one of these from a ligament tearing off of the bone, and also an internal fraction and this helps, it's slightly heavy but you get used to it, and I recommend wearing a sock underneath it
I have one of these right now, and it is great, I am in my 5 th week of healing from a trimalleolar fracture, and I was able to walk with crutches the first day in this aircast with no problems.
@stev1982e can you tell me where I can buy one because I know my ankle problem and theres no need for waste of time and money for a no help doctor please. thanks
