  • Excellent series on hip movement! I checked out the first 2 videos before watching this video. I'm very impressed on the amount of material you covered in these videos. BRAVO!

  • @Susanoo58 Thank you, & I'm humbly glad that you like the hip rotation series *bow* =3 =D! There are still a whole lot more to cover, & they'll be more advanced w/ each future uploaded video. The pace will still be for the beginners, so that it'll give them enough training time to practice, feel, & let their bodies get used to the hip movement =3 =D.

  • I really like the use of the towel to explain how to use the hips for more power. Excellent tutorial Jay. Thank you for sharing with us. Thumbs up.

  • @DTGtaihojutsu Thanks Rick =D! Glad you liked it XD! This is also a good substitute for doing wood choppers if a person doesn't have any access to weights. If I were to choose between weight core exercises & this, I'd choose this, & the expanded variations of it, w/c will be shown in future vids =3 =D.

  • Thumbs Up

    Very much so.

You have a knack of re-inventing many aspects of the internal martial arts.

What you said about rather feeling the hip rotation then seeing the fist fly out could have been taken directly from the Yiquan manual.

Great respect for your abulity to come up with training methods that translate mental focus into martial prowess.

One can really see that the slow motion of a big mass translates to a fast motion of a small mass. Whipprinciple in action

  • @blacksilkblacksilk Thank you, sir; really glad you liked it XD =D! I didn't see it that way, the reinvention of training methods in m.a. I mean =3. I honestly don't have any solid background regarding to soft m.a., except BGZ. Due to my late start in m.a., I always do things slow at 1st to really get the feeling of the body mechanics behind it, & to prevent injuries XD. Take care of yourself also =D!

  • great job, to me this video links empty hand with weapons training. this is the missing link video :)

  • @wmpyr Thank you XD! I honestly didn't know that this could be the missing link from empty hands to weapons =/. It is an honor, then *bow* =3. Glad you liked it =D!

  • @wmpyr I could not agree more. This links empty hand to weapon.

    take care

  • Dude nice! I like the idea with the towel. I can easily see the explosive amount of torque in your hips. This is a great drill for beginners or even intermediates. Perfect for learning how to add power to punches, especially circular punches.

  • @kwonkicker Thank you =D! Glad you liked it XD! Sometimes, weights can only get you so far when it comes to doing drills & explosiveness. Thanks to the video inspired this, I wouldn't even be able to expound on this subject. It is very tiring in the long run, though, but worth it =3.
