its hard to tell but if you look closely the noise level is much better than original. He basically reduced the background noise while keeping the details. Also he sharpened the details a slight bit towards the end. it's just hard to tell because of the video quality. HD would be nice though. Gimp is awesome!

you need to talk rather than have music so you can explain what your are doing

To make it better what you do is duplicate the layer and then on the layer that was just created apply the selective gaussian blur. Next set that layer to overlay mode and adjust the opacity. That will clear a lot of things up and make the picture pop more.
