The man himself recently described his setup at that time to me as an always on Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive, a MP Yellow Tremelo and when needed during solos, a Lovepedal COT-50. Nowadays, it includes an always on Bob Burt Clean Boost and D*A*M Super Bee among others. He later added his rig at Cognac could have been a Hao Rust Boost always on and the MP SHO in front of that for boost when needed. He did use for years a ZVEX Super Hard On.
@Fatshead Thanks for the info! The Burt is awesome, and I've been reading TGP where Alex has been talking gear. The sweet honey is cool too, but there's a lot of pedals tht do that. My faves are the Okko and the Timmy. I guess if money didn't matter I've have all of the MP stuff, though I barely use pedals. I rely on using the right wattage. right now the Magnatone stuff cannot be beat for capturing the sound in my head. but when you can't drag your gear, a collection of pedals is a must!
