While I'm a die hard VNV fan, and I applaud them for dedicating this song to Sophie Lancaster, as well as everyone involved with S.O.P.H.I.E., I disliked this video because of this terrible thing that happened to a young girl whom I never knew, and now never will get a chance to. I'm not sure which I feel worse about: that I'll never get a chance to meet her, or that I only heard about her because of this terrible crime happening to her in the first place...

I was there when this was filmed - hundreds of us there and not a dry eye in the house.

It's sad how alternatives are singled out, we create less problems than most sub-cultures.

We spoke to the bouncers for the festival and they said that in the 10 (11 now) years of it, there'd never been a problem. No fights, no arrests, occasionally someone gets too merry and falls down or someone dehydrates, that's about the worst of it.

How many music festivals can you say that about?

True, but here the chavs rule the town, and it's very much like it was with Sophie down here. I'm scared to go outside unless I conform. They hate anything that's different, enough to want to hurt us. But this town has at least 2 rapists that are still at large too.

This song is beautiful, I think it's an appropriate tribute to Sophie. I live near Sophie, and although I didn't know her, I was really upset about her death, and about how anyone could want to end the life of someone just because of their lifestyle choice.

Yes, it was wrong for this to happen, but hate not. For hatred only breeds more hate. The "Chavs" are trying to find their place in life as well. The right thing to do is to educate and raise awareness. That is one of the main staples of being goth in the first place - light in darkness.
