@Dust0fNation I don't really know, or... I haven't thought about that, but I think I keep my playing pretty "free" so that it'll fit in when the next chord comes in. That is tone wise... but you asked about staying in time, but that's pretty much the same thing. I don't really play in time, more freely if you ask me. It's a feeling you develope after many years of practicing. My approach is like "expect the unexpected" so you learn how to stretch the timing. Hard to explain...
@MetallicaFan4ever5 You can do whatever you want with it. I'm not happy with the perfomance and haven't listened to it since I uploaded it... still working on my chops and my expectations are that you'll be blown away when I come back. But until then - stay tuned! Love my fans! Cheers!
I really like your sound from 4:30 to 4:56, I really like the "crunchyness" of your tone there - it's nicely distorted, but you still can hear that it's a Strat - really great!
@ginkamble Thanks man! Well, there are a couple of bends that ain't quite in pitch... couldn't hear the backing track enough... But you can't win'em all... ;)
Hi, which fcb do you use? I want a midiverb4 at the end of my guitar chain, and i only need a midi controller to change the presets on the midiverb 4 to free my hands up.
@freenamdar No problem. Since it's EMG's there is a 25K as a volume pot. Most active system uses the same value. Of course you could try other values too, but it will affect the treble output. Like if you use a 250K pot with humbuckers, then they are gonna get much more treble than if you would use the standard 500K pot.
If that's what you want, then it's ok... fun to experiment with.
You can also experiment with different components to change the resistance through the pot.
would it be pointless to add a mxr distorion plus on top of a ocd? i might get a distorion plus to add to my chain of pedals and use my ocd as a boost. yet i dont know..what do you think
I have no idea, sometimes pedals work perfectly togehter and sometimes they don't. You'll have to try it for yourself. Are you using the pedals in front of a clean amp. I never use my OCD with a clean sound, think it works better like a boost... I use it all the time with my Marshall JVM and the crunch channel - killer tone!
sweet tone man... you mind sharing what you're using for the overdrive? Is it just the amp? Sounds like you are using a compressor. If so, which one? Also, what pickups in the guitar? Looks like a lot of fun, makes me want to jam on this song now!
dude, everytime i watch your videos when you jam with a BT, you inspire me to become a great guitar player. not to sound wierd or anything but you really do. i hope to be half as good as you are one day. thanks bro!
Yah know I don't really comment on people's videos that much but I am very impressed...with ALL your videos. Please don't quit like you were mentioning in another video. Great Talent! Thanks for the videos
No, I won't quit - promise! But sometimes when life won't go your way, things feel hopeless you know... but I see things clearer now. You can't be too old for playing the guitar. Just look at Jeff Beck... ;)
Hello peelopuu. The middle tone knob is a rotary A/B switch witch in position A makes the 5-way switch work as on a regular strat with those in between sounds.
In the B position, you will get different sounds.
1) Bridge pickup
2) Neck and Middle with a capacitor
3) Bridge and Neck pickup
4) Bridge, Middle and Neck pickup with capacitor.
Also good to know is that the bridge pickup is a tele-voiced pickup with a steel "tone plate" under the pickguard. It's amazing piece of wood!
Well, I wouldn't know cause I never tried the VG, but the JD strat sounds really close to a tele, and it's for real, no digital stuff! Too bad there were less then 500 made. Great stuff, really fat neck, and lightweight!
I've got the Head version of this amp(it's my fathers amp) . Did I understand you right? I have to turn up the volume on channel 1 + on ch. 2 the gain too? And the bass, mid, and treble knobs also?
I always was wondering about this muddy Overdrive sound because it sounds like shit to my ears. So thank you very much.
And by the way awesome sound!! Can you give me the settings of you're amp?
Great! Yeah, like a wrote in the info, you'll have to turn up the volume 1 on channel one (not the master 1) to get the right amount of gain on the second channel (which you have to have a high setting on the volume 2 too).
The Master 1 is what determine what volume you can get on Master 2, so you'll have to try what suits your needs the most.
The way I have my amp set is Volume 1 at 2 o'clock (if you have it too high you'll not be able to get a good claen sound), volume 2 fully up, B, M and T is all the way up, and depending on which volume i run the amp on (home or in the rehearsal) i turn the Presence down a bit at higher volume because it gets a little too shrill otherwise...
I use a footswitch to engage the parametric EQ as a solo volume!
I don't understand that either, but there's nothing I can do about it, so...
There are alot of things you can't understand about this amp, but with an overdrive on both channels it can be both a blues and a metal monster. Not quite what you could expect from reading the reviews from Harmony Central, it is?
I never would use this amp as a Metal monster amp but I need some good Rock sounds. For me a real Metal amp is the JCM 800,Diezel or a Mesa/Boogie amp. But I have to work on getting the best tone out of it. the clean channel is really great.
Don't forget to try out an overdrive in front of the channel 2. It makes the whole difference you know!
Even though it's built like a Mesa it sounds more lika a Marshall...
Yeah, the clean channel is great, but the problem with this amp is that getting both good clean sounds and "brown" sounds are impossible due to the stupid eq section.
Thanks! Yeah, but you can run it as a solid state too. Built in the early 80's, loud as hell... A friend had a look at the inside of the amp and said it was a Mesa ripoff.
I don't play this amp so much, but I have used it with one of my bands and it rocks, no problem keeping up with the drummer.. only negative is that it lacks gain plus it's not enough bass in it, but I'm thinkin of getting it modded so it suits my needs!
Very nice violin effect! Great job, to be honest I thought about being disappointed to see someone jamming on pink floyd backing track but that was hell better than I expected, you're a true guitar master
Hi CedricIII, nice video. I have the same amp but in pretty bad shape, the original speaker has been changed for a cheaper one. Can you make a review of the amp to know how must sound both channels?
No, I'm not, but I did gigs 3-4 times a week a couple of years ago, then I got kids and built a house and that sort of stuff. YT is for me a way to keep the playing alive.
Mostly I play because it's fun, and I hope that it shines through the computer screen! :)

Very nice Singing type audio, I like that sound a lot, and the music that you chose to work with also. Looks like I see 3 effects,
2 on top of the amp and 1 on the keyboard.
Possibly I'm seeing a type of control for the amp itself? All sounds "Really Good" to me.
Haven't tried my new pedal yet, I became
exhausted and had to take a long nap. I'm back now though and I will Play Today :-)
OH, do you use a power conditioner to prevent hum? Check back later, have fun...Laser~ 5*

Yeah, it kind of sings out the notes that little amp. Especially at around 3:25 when I turn the OCD on together with channel two.. I felt "Yeah" when I recorded it! :D
The white thing on top of the combo is the overdrive unit. What you see on the right side on top of the combo is the amp switch.
3 buttons; Channel 1/2, reverb on/off, parametric EQ on/off.
There is no noice reduction units here, but the EMG's are fantastically quiet!
