  • 60 hz

  • Isn't this a bit too much for the socket? A normal house consumes max 5kWh, this speaker is something like 6kW if it has 8ohm, double if it has 4ohm.

  • hehhe its a tough one =P

  • this is fucking ignorant, why would you do that, that was obviously a very strong woofer, put that shit in ur car and dont worry about blowing the bitch

  • boo hooo. its there sub and there choice. its called having fun , and if its that good of a sub then hell know to buy another one.

  • ok and what if you cant afford that....

  • if hes blowin it up with a wall socket, im guessing he can afford it.

  • @jfo420 no shit right..

  • ignorant ppl...subs can be reconed. If he is wall socketing it then there was obviously something wrong with it to begin with. Why recone the sub when it still works when you can blow it up then recone it.

  • is this a recording of a woodpecker... on speed????

  • @kernowrock555 that sound the oscillation of the electrical frequency--60 hz...

  • im just wondering was there anything wrong with the sub

  • omg it isnt even bottoming out!

  • Pretty big voice coil, seemed like quality element. Guys in the states have too much time and money to waste good elements.

  • i would kill for one of these speakers, what da hell is wrong wit this guy!!!!!!!

  • 220 wall socket 20 Amps, 2 ohm = 2200 watts @60 hz

  • no its 50hz when your in europe.

    in america its 110v @ 60hz.

  • THIS WAS DONE IN AMERICA.

  • fieroboom is right. That's why I mentioned the imepdance curve. Not hard to learn the facts, emailman5.. the interwebs are useful for something besides pr0n :D

  • to answer a lot of questions... Yes it is 120 wall socket. yes they were stupid for ruining the best prototype sub that the had.. it was wired at 2ohm... i was in with these guys while the subs were being built but it went downhill really quick because of stupid shit like this

  • I wonder why people blow their woofers. I need woofers so it is a good idea to donate them to me ^_^ I need woofers for my car cuz i cant afford to buy one

  • STOP YOU CAN STILL SAVE IT LOL

  • lol its a smoke maker

  • that was a pretty damn big coil

  • According to the beginning of the video, this is 120VAC; in the U.S. that operates @ about 60Hz, and with his accent, I'm going to assume he's in the U.S. It's not surprising that it lasted so long, because the biggest spike on almost any sub impedance curve is right around 60Hz. He starts out @ 2 Ohms (dual voice coils in parallel), but that can easily hit 20-50 ohms @ 60Hz. Best guess would be about 30 Ohms, so P=120^2/30=480Watts but that's only a guess. A multi-meter would be better. :o)

  • Hmm.. for most speakers, true. You'd have to have the impedance curve as these are subwoofers, for the most part. Could be.

  • the speaker's sound has a frequency of 60 Hz, and the people talk english with, i think, an american accent, which means it is most likely 120V.

  • 220V @ 4 Ohms is 12KW. Fortunately for our hero, at 50Hz (60 goes with 100V (Asia) / 120V (Americas) as 50Hz goes with 220V in the UK and EU), the napalm is rated at 3KW continuous, so it lasted a few minutes at 300% over rating. At 500 pounds, that's an expensive giggle :P

  • the speaker will be seeing a lot less than 12kw because its impedance would be higher than 4ohms at ~50-60 hz.

  • Wow... u know ur facts :P

  • Respect to this speaker!

  • damn that thing did good

  • litle lesson for these idiots... the coli of speaker sees the FREQUENCY 50-60hz and it vibrates on it like no problem, because is alternative current and with this the resistans of speaker coil is big, like big resistor.. and if you conect "direct" currant then it will burst, because the resistanc of coil is small...go back to school ASHOLES;;;;...stupid experimet DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOrks...

    AGREED!

  • damn straight!

  • litle lesson for these idiots... the coli of speaker sees the FREQUENCY 50-60hz and it vibrates on it like no problem, because is alternative current and with this the resistans of speaker coil is big, like big resistor.. and if you conect "direct" currant then it will burst, because the resistanc of coil is small...go back to school ASHOLES;;;;...stupid experimet DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOrks

  • 120V will pull more current @ 8R than 220V, you morons.

15 Amps @ 110 to be precise - which is why it lasts more than a milliscond. Boring.

  • they should connect those to their cocks =p

  • You must know one thing : destroy a speaker with 220 volts is not funny. The funny is to destroy a speaker with a true music signal, delivered by a several hight power amplifier. Trust me, there is nothing funny to destrow speaker by this method.

  • you guys are dumb fucks it's 110v thats what wall sockets are. what the your DRYER is plugged into is 220V and a welder is 440V

  • maybe they aren't in North america.

  • but then again 220 shoulda took it out sooner. LOL

  • Please stop talking, you're embarrassing yourself. While your country may use 120v (and yes it's 120v, not 110), your simple mind may have forgotten you're on a global site, where the majority of people have wall sockets that run at 220v.

  • fuck you !

  • fuck you! how fucking dumb are you!?!

220V is standard in 100s of countrys

  • i dont get it why would you want to do that to a speaker anyway.can someone explain this experiment to me?

  • a sub is made to hanlde not even 12 volts, and around 100 amps. If it can handle 220 volts, which is a minimum of a few hundred amps, then it sais the voice coil can handle well over it's rated wattage. Probly around a few thousand watts.

  • that was a shitty sub!

  • 120?m...aca en argentina se usa 220v

    bye

  • what noob.

  • wtf da point in all dis fukin useless man jus wasted 3mins of ma life that i am damn sure not gna get back!

  • lan amına kodugumunun cocugu napıyon lan kolona pic fuck anasını sıktıgımının piçi senın sulalenı sıkım ben

  • gawd damn hillbillies

  • how loud would that be if you had it in a Sub box.... hint hint. you should find out....lol

  • There is one of a Cerwin Stroker in a box tuned to 50hz running on 230v (UK)

  • it was 120v dude, if it was 220v, that thing would last about 1 min>

  • def was 220v ... ive seen subs of less caliber last much longer than 1min in 220v sockets

  • You're a fuckin n00b. They sound American or Canadian using a wall socket so it's 120v.

Oh, nevermind the fact that the video itself says "120v" at the start...
