One more flaw other than not using diet cola, flavored mentos like cola and pineapple have an extra coating on them to give it flavor or sugar or something, so the soda does not come in direct contact with the mento... try breaking it in half before putting them in next time

You know what you should try? Get a liter of Cola in a bottle and put like 8 mentos in (the mint ones fruit won't work) put the coke lid back on (not so tightly) and see what happens. :D

FYI, mentos is Dutch. We have a lot more flavours. The ones I can think of:

Mint, strong mint, air mint, drop, fruit, tropical fruit, strawberry (hill?), drop & fruit, lemon, fresh cola and some others. Don't know if some are exclusive but I'm pretty sure the drop ones are.

We've got a "fruit" flavour mentos in the UK. I can't remember if it's "Tropical fruit" or anything but there is a variety of PINK and YELLOW...which basically covers all fruit.

Those won't dont work because normal Mentos have like a very bumpy surface, which allow for lots of bubbles to form off the mint, which is what creates that massive plume of coke fizz.

The flavoured one's have a smooth sugar shell so they don't have the same effect, silly SystemJap!!!!
