  • You're in your elements here Dave. Fantastic energy shines though this one.

  • @LewisLuong Thanks! I DO love the old prog songs!

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!

  • @bloodythinandfast Thank you!!!!!!

  • I first saw U.K. when they opened for Tull's "Stormwatch" tour. Incredible talent and amazing sound for a three piece band.

  • @cygnus53 Yeah, that was the era of the "Superband". World-class musicians got together to see what they could come up with. Never got to see either incarnation of UK much to my regret!

  • Waw!!! Like a Bozzio! Cool!!!

  • @estradafx Thank you!

  • Great performance, great sound, great song!

  • @spacemanspifftarkus Great comment! Thanks so much!

  • Very good work! Awaysome!

  • Very nicely done!! A strange & wonderful drum passage. Your high hat is far from your snare. Do you ever get pains in your oblique muscles on your left side from leaning right to reach it? I ask because I went through it. I see you use open hand method as well as cross over with your hats - that's cool! You don't see that every day. Thanks for posting it, I love Bozzio and glad to see that you do as well. I'm sure Terry would be honored by your performance. Your mix sounds good too.

  • @Jay435 Thank you, sir! Because I do play open-handed hats is probably why I don't get pains in my side, as I'm not straining by leaning one way long enough?

  • You rock!

    Cheers from Chile!

  • @Caiosama205 Thanks! Cheers from the USA!

  • Stands up and claps.

    Great stuff.

  • @Jellybeantiger Thanks! (Bows in gratitude).

  • All I can say is wow! I have listened to this song countless times and the drums are pure perfections! Sublime work, man!

  • @Yarsh52 Thanks so much!

  • DAMN BRO! Awesome! I've never attempted U.K- but you just inspired me! AWESOME again! The foot-pedal on the cow bell tripped me out!

  • @Tama12pc Thanks! I'm not real happy about the intro. I liked including the cowbell beat with my foot, but the rest of it does not have quite the right feel as Bozzio's solo. (It works well enough in the middle bridge, though.) I basically ran out of time and posted what I had. Would liked to have done a few more takes and nailed it down better. The fills in the song are what Bozzio plays, but the intro still annoys me a bit. Oh well. Thanks again for watching and your generous comments!

  • Dave,

It's been a LONG time since I heard this one! I remember when the first UK album came out - instant PROG gratification!

Great job on this one. I'm going to watch all the rest of your vids as time permits.

    -Tom Geisler

  • @ttomsdw Thanks, Tom. Personally, I liked Bruford more than Bozzio in this band. Bruford is so syncopated and offbeat, he fit the band better, imo. The first album was so unique. Bozzio is good too, but I felt he changed the flavor of the band a bit more towards rock. And after Holdsworth left, it became more of a power trio than the progressive band it started out as. Same thing with Yes, after Bruford left and Alan White took over. A whole different interpretation. But I still love them all!

  • Man... my favorite Bozzio piece? Now you're just freaking me out. As with the octoban on Presto, I'm particularly digging the cowbell pedal.

  • @GBJPhotoWorks Thanks! Nobody on YouTube includes the cowbell part, not even Bozzio (from what I've seen). So I thought it would be cool to do it. And since he's doing rolls with both hands, the only appendage free for it, was a foot!

  • @GBJPhotoWorks WOW! Awesome job dude! I never had the balls to even ATTEMPT U.K; but I think you just motivated me!

  • @Tama12pc Thanks! Go for it. You'll probably play it better than I did.

  • @Tama12pc ... this is not me. This is "17drums". It is B-A-D-A-S-S, badass.

  • Dave you are amazing!

  • @awfulldrummer Thanks, Mike! But, in retrospect, I think I played the beginning feet a little too fast and added an extra stroke on the third roto! Other than that, the fills are what Bozzio played, though they sound different on the drums (vs. rotos). And I included the cowbell in the beginning, which I think Bozzio multi-tracked, (since he doesn't play it live either). All in all, it was fun. And a good way to turn on another generation to some great older music!

  • as always impressive and not an easy tune to pull off ,,,,,you made it look easy Great stuff !!!!!

  • @speedyfeet814 Thanks!

  • wow!

  • @11111phil11111 Thanks, Phil!

  • posted yesterday and only 19 views? man, more people need to watch your videos! Loved your Mozart video, keep it up.

  • @morica Thanks! Yeah, as a rule, I don't get too many views. Probably because I do older stuff that most people either never heard of, or forgot about! Probably get a ton more views if I played metal.

  • Wow. Awesome.

  • @ChaosReaper101 Thanks!
