@ld871111 I'm sorry, but do you still believe that military destroy only military targets??? Look closer on modern wars. How many civilians die in every war and how many soldiers? Look at Libya for example. And I think if you have such weapon you are better protected than if you haven't and only think how not to make ships military targets. This weapon was made exactly to defend from attacks.
These weapons will allow the other side to kill your civilians, claiming that you are using civilian assets to launch attacks from. It removes all protection under the Geneva Convention. In short, you are putting your people in harm's way on purpose.
@ld871111 And what do you mean by "illegal"? If the USA makes anti-air system on ships in Baltic sea and northern seas "against Iran" (did they ever see a map? or they think others so stupid?), why is it legal?
The anti-ballistic missiles are visible military targets. On the other hand, putting missiles in freight containers is disguising as civilian target. You can't tell the difference between a military target and using civilian assets as cover?
Disguising as civilian and engaging in acts of war is illegal under the Geneva Convention. It allows the other side to openly attack your civilians if you hide behind them. Terrorism is a war crime, so don't be an idiot.
@ld871111 Ha ha ha what is Geneva Convention for Russia ha ha ha My next door pub has more space then all Geneva, forget about gay conventions:))) war is near
Good to know you care little about rules of conduct during a war. I guess the Nazi were right to kill millions of Russians. Because according to you, it's just war right?
Hmm the idea that it is a mini 'second strike' option is about it's only benefit.
Of course if the US or allies believe that missiles are hidden in 40ft containers - then suddenly every container would become a target - I don't know if you'd want that. You also need to target these things at your enemy - and regardless of whether it is hidden in a container or not - you'd need radar to acquire the target - and you can't hide radar - it needs to project signals to work.
Well you wouldn't waste this on anybody else would you? Ironically most Soviet or Russian hardware has been used against other armies supplied with similar hardware.
Ask Iraq or Syria how much Russian hardware has protected them...
Russian air defense systems 'protected' the Syrian reactor that was taken out.
Georgia's equipment was all Russian origin. They lost Su-25s, Mi-24s, An-2!!, L-29s which are ex Warsaw Pact.. See any US equipment there? The Russians lost a Su-27 to an S-75. Since the war Georgia HAS bought some US equipment.. So my point remains - most Russian equipment has been used against Russian equipment. What has a Su-27 ever shot down? Eritrean MiG-29s
I know nothing about that "syrian reactor". During Vietnam War dozens of US warplanes were downed by Soviet-Russian SAMs. In Yugoslavia, even an "invisible" F-117 was downed by an ancient Russian missile.
Nowadays the whole world (except the US and its loyal servants) continues to purchase Russian-made weaponry.
Seems you forgot, that georgian soldiers were armed by US-made assault rifles. You also forgot that Russians seized US Humvees from georgian side.
@erad24 mate, you are saying stupid stuff, you can't even compare what do the USA make and test and this thing. exactly, it's not a video game, so please stop playing that shit and get some brains

Isn't this illegal? Using a container ship as a missile launch pad would make your civilian ships military targets.

Too bad the rest of the world does not share your opinion. When you need to hide behind civilian targets to attack, you've lost the war already.

Ask Georgia how US-made weaponry and military tactic protected them against Russians in 2008 :))))

Is there a launch platform that doesn't fit to the Club missile family?
1. Club-S submarine-launched
2. Club-N surface-ship launched
3. Club-M coastal defense variant
4. Club-U modular variant for ships
5. Club-A air-launched - possibly under development
6. Club-K container-launched

LOL you are completly crazy, Russia is out of his mind with this.
If your goal is to start WWIII, i think this is it.
If Russia use this we can now start to build Airliners as weapons, autoguided airliners full of C-4 or mounted with nuclear warheads.
Then sell them to Africa to test your new weapons like the old days.
This is Complete madness.
