Your speech, explanation, understanding of target audience perception and capacity to learn, all go well beyond anything I've ever seen done professionally or not, on YouTube. Seriously impressive work here. <3
Dude, kudos to you for these tutorials. Exponentially better than any of these other clowns that think the only thing to synths is how to make a wobble. Thanks, we know. Tip of the cap to you, thesoundtutor.
i will definitell support u :O best tutorial for begginers like me ever. only one explaining what is actually going on, others just show u how to do something but people then cant do shit themselves..thx man u changed that trend!
Amazingly in depth series of tutorials on all the inner workings of The Massive synthesiser. Well worth the watch even if you think you "know how to use massive"!
Hey guy's or thesoundtutor if you get a chance to read this May i know the name of this studio your using and if it cost money or if it's free? ty Much much appreciated ;)
@TakmanProduckies Nope, i love operator and simpler but i can't my head around massive to save my life!! I used to use alchemy from camel audio, that's pretty wicked stuff =) Do you know much about massive?
@goo396 thats good man and yh massive is pretty hard to use but once you get used its pretty good. This video series really helped tho. so you make music ?
@TakmanProduckies Yea badly though, I've not been at it too long and it's all self-taught, I've never done anything like this before. What about you, do you put stuff out?
@goo396 lol just keep at it, trust me within a few month, you will improve like madness :P and im just self taught too just watching random youtube tutorials and experimenting and i just sent stuff out to different e.g. radio stations. you got anytunes on here?
An absolute gem of a tutorial. So much useful info! Now just to figure out the Key Triggers, Global Settings & the Macros....... I wonder why it's called Massive?
@igot5onit2 Really? REALLY!? In the introduction video where he explains what hes gonna do and what programs hes gonna use, you want to know what program hes gonna use!? Dude! Watch the video!
@SoundGauge well lets see ive tried to look for and i cant find theres always assholes like you that never give out helpful info all i wanted was a link or something to DL christ
@igot5onit2 Well i'll tell you anyway mate! Basically he's using Ableton Live 8 as his main sequencer program and Native Instruments 'Massive' as a Vst plugin for live 8. These are expensive programs but well worth the cost Also the community and support you get from Native Instruments and Ableton is brilliant! PLEASE dont download them illegally!

Holy shit, this is phenomenal! SO glad I ran into this. Somebody who's actually devoted to giving people the tools necessary to make excellent bass sounds...more than just the 3xOsc technique that I've seen run rampant in the other videos on this site. It would be nice to bring my sound to the next level, compete with the big dawgs, and shut up all the people who think Americans can't produce dubstep!
How have I not come across your tutorials in the last 10 months!? Awesome work, I shall carefully watch your series and take onboard your tips and tricks! ....I love YouTube for guys like you!!!! Great work!
I'd love to see a tutorial done in FL studio. I know in the end it's all the same, because you are basicaly teaching the theory of dubstep, but still, I'm a FL user and I'm quite happy with it.
Hi Palo, no I've not written for most of this year sadly due to work commitments and no space to set up my studio. But both elements are out of the way now, so I hope to have it done this year.
Hi Mariolopez, sorry you feel that way, I've just re watched it and I am happy that it does what I intended it to do. Introduce you to the remaining 12 videos content, let you know what the aim of the series is and then leave you to it. It is an introduction/advert video so perhaps you should jump to video 2 and give it more than 20 seconds?
how can i get massive when i install it put the vst in my vst folder it still deonty work have i been dqwnload a dud vershion any 1 no were i can get it ???? plzzzzzzzz help i neeeds dubstep bassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I don't have Massive, but I managed to learn a lot by applying this series (that is, what can be applied) to Ableton's Operator. I still learned a helluva lot. If anyone doesn't have Massive and is put off by these vids, but if you already know a bit about synths, you can just follow through with Operator, or some other kit. It still applies.
I had a quick question which i'm not sure if you'd b able to help me with. Thank you first for making the tutorial for massive, but as for the DAW I use Cubase. Is there a way to draw your automations on Cubase? I've recorded an automation with Massive but when I click show automations in Cubase nothing pops up, the track is empty. I know Ableton Live is your preferred DAW but I was hoping you'd might be able to give me some insight, thank you tremendously in advance TST.
@ZANDERHAY what you need to do is click chanels, then add one, then more and refresh and safe search :) FL9 , sony Acid, reason are the best when rewired together
Hi Chrispy, do you mean the song in this particular video? I'm in fact gonna try and get it finished up today as I've been asked by a few people.
If you mean the track as demo's towards the end, they were only made for the tutorials so have never been taken further than the form they're in on the videos.
This is an amazing tutorial thank you so much sound tutor, ive been using massive for a while but have not found anything that compares to the depth and usefulness of this upload
