  • I was at Brock Road when the tornado crossed Hwy 70... The tornado moved past me quite silently. In fact, I couldn't see it until a transformer blew. And instead of sparks raining down, they went straight up into the vortex. Thats when I knew what I was seeing. A few seconds later, the RFD slammed my truck so hard it sent my truck spinning down the highway. I intercepted again at I-35, where it killed a truckdriver right in front of me. I'm Ardmore 257. That wasTerribleTuesday.

  • I live in ardmore and that exact supercell produced a EF4 tornado in lone grave!!!

  • why would people dislike this video. it's mother nature working it self.. but ! yeah! it is amazing what you recorded and i will see one in the future but you got ball's to be there..

  • I was working a basketball game when they told us there's a funnel that could produce a tornado my mom n I left to go to aunts house she lives nxt to us it was scary driving home bc halfway home everything got still no wind no noise it freaked me out and my friend too bc she was n the back seat digging her claws into my shoulder but when it got still it scared me to death!!! Half of LG got destroyed bc we arnt that big :)

  • It threw a car over my house

  • my house was right down the road from there

  • If weather didnt excite these chasers, then they wouldnt be out looking for these storms and then they wouldnt be able to report them...Spotters save lives so the desire to see these storms must be given by God to those who are meant to save lives!

  • The Weather lately has been lame lame lame thou

  • great video !!

  • one of those 8 people was my great grandfather. :( You chased a murderer

  • Im sorry for your loss, but nature is not a murderer. Murder is a human act, an intension to end life by believing in the human constructs of life and death. Murder cannot be committed by something unaware of death.

I am saying this because people tend to anthropomorphize nature and view the world in a anthropocentric manner. It's easy to rationalize the confusion and pain in life by attributing human qualities to the world around us, but ultimately it dilutes and deludes us, causing more pain.

  • that'll do pig...that'll do

  • im from lone grove and this made a big impact on us

  • WOW..

  • ty for sharing be safe out there

  • sweet!

hah you guys have nice voices

  • Uh... Thanks? Haha.

  • Wow, fantastic job capturing this one. And I agree, no chaser ever wants to see what happened to Lone Grove, Parkersburg, Greensburg, Jarrell, etc etc etc.

  • anyone else see a face on the top left at the beginning?

  • it looks like there is one a 0:41

  • Amazing storm structure. Great job capturing the intracloud lightning!

  • this honestly was one of the scariest days of my life, I was in plainview at the time at a basketball game. You would hope something like this never happens to you. it does and all you can do is be strong,

  • Thanks for the reply. Appreciated.

  • o mei gat

  • Great job with the video, as a fellow chaser its a shame we had so many loss of lives. Its goes to show that just because its February that nobody is safe when it comes to severe weather. NO chaser wants to see a comunity hit with devastation and loss of lives. We sometimes can't get to be a part of recovery due to debris, but if at all possible will help any commuity in reocovery efforts.

  • And that lightning beginning at 4:00 - holysmokes. That cloud was a BOMB! Shows the power and a strange, terrible beauty of Nature.

  • Good grief! That is a scary scary sky. Would not want to see that coming towards me. Breaks my heart what happened in Lone Grove, my thoughts with those, affected. An early start to svr wx season...

  • A tragic day for the affected area and you have my sincere wishes for things to get on track again. The footage was excellent and this type info really does help the NWS overall in determining data when they view such things also, so I don't think the guys were out there having a 'great time', the threat of tornado damage etc is always on their minds I'm sure and they're mindful to assist first. My thoughts.

  • Thank you Mike, very well said.

  • Thanks for the footage guys

  • i know that a storm might be exciting to watch but to have faith that the tornado will touch down or something is really crappy.i live a mile from where the tornado hit.we had everything to lose and some lost everything and people died! you guys were standing by with a camera while others like emergency crews went into the storm to help people, my husband a paramedic went in... i didnt know whether my husband was okay or if my home would make it.. realize what these storms mean to people here

  • Trust me, no storm chaser enjoys the destruction these storms cause. We love the storms, but we get just as worried as anyone when a tornado heads towards a town or city. Most of us live in tornado alley too, so please don't act like we don't "realize what these storms mean."

Do me a favor and go to 1:35. Notice us talking about reporting the wall cloud. We aren't out there to see lives get destroyed, we do whatever we can to help.

(sorry for this being so long, continued on next comment)

  • This seriously, is the most, idiotic comment, I've ever seen posted on a youtube video, in the, what, 6 years ive been watching youtube. (or longer). What kind of person in their right mind would think that us storm chaser want people to get hurt? Haha, this has to go down as the most ignorant comment ever made.

  • I hope you can understand what I am saying. I'm glad you and your husband are okay, but please realize that we hate to see people's lives get affected as much as anyone. Thanks.

  • What on earth could possibly make you think we storm chasers enjoy seeing people get hurt or killed?

  • there's a reason OU is a huge center for severe storm research. Just because we "stand by with a camera" doesn't mean we're not doing something that will help in the long run, and we certainly don't wishcast devastation and death on people. Emergency crews did their jobs, and we did ours. I am really glad that your family is all right.

  • Great footage. Bittersweet, though. Exciting to watch, but the aftermath was too hard to talk about.

  • Wow an f-4 and it's only february!! I live in central ohio and the wind gusts are 65 mph until 5 am. It's gonna be a crazy year for storms.

  • EF-4 ;)

  • holy crap i lived in marietta when this happened

  • I am so glad me and my family lived through this. We were in wilson, and we heard it coming.....

Everything got silent...no rain....no wind...nothing...it missed us by a hair.

  • Beautiful cloud structure at 4:15, but imagine getting golf ball size hail dents in such a nice car like the one you are driving.

  • Imagine getting hail dents in such a nice car like that! Get a used car for your chases.

  • lone grove is my town ;(

  • Yeah, the structure on this storm was incredible and the lightning was constant. The tornado has apparently been rated an EF-4.

  • That is some great footage, especially starting at 3:50. When you see lightning that high up you know you've got a true supercell.
