One Problem dywanik1 and shelle1even, in the video, the orbiter is circling the station with its heatsheild (black tiles) facing AWAY from the space station. This makes it all the more curious.
Hi! Yes, this is the final inspection. While the spacecraft is in orbit it might have been hit by a space debric which could damage the heat-shield. Regards!
Hey Guy's, I'm Sure You Would All Know, Em. What Is The Reason For The Shuttle Fly-around Of The Space-station after Final Undocking? I Was Thinking For A Final Inspection Of The Heat Shield Tiles? Or To Get Into A Different Orbit Than The Space Station? Anyone Could Explain? Thanks Guys! Buy The Way Great Video NASA! You Guys Never Cease To Amaze Me! Well I do not know all the reasons, however I do know they like to take pictures of the stations exterior to put in the web pages. I suppose they would like to see if the station has any damages from possible hits from debre.
Fantastic job! Good luck with EVA 1 tonight. I tell you what I will be very sad to see the shuttle gone in 2010. These are, truly, NASA's glory years. Long live Endeavour!
