"Neste barco navegando, luz, som e calor, o azul desta
saudade... e o mar é tão calmo, solidão.
Neste barco navegando luz, som e amor, o azul
desta saudade... e o mar é tão calmo, solidão."
I'm brazilian, and I have to say that I couldn't understand a thing before read the lyrics in another website (which was also wrong), not only for me, but for every brazilian who has listened to this song. And the lyrics here doesn't make any sense. But i love this song
The waves which dash upon the shore are, one by one, broken, but the ocean conquers nevertheless. It overwhelms the Armada, it wears out the rock. In like manner, whatever the struggle of individuals, the great cause will gather strength"
This is Portuguese Brazilian is as sweet as the Girl From Ipanema. I think Naná Vasconcelos the percussionist composed the music, and Mario Toledo wrote the lyrics.
Does anyone know where Calmarie (Calmaria) is from ?
OK people, great voice, great song, but the portuguese is poor.
This song was composed by Nana Vasconcelos, a brazilian guy like me, and is very beautiful. Maybe if Debbie sang only in english. Depite that, I love her.
Until now I honestly thought the non-English part was in Swedish. And I usually have no problem telling Swedish from Portugese... So her Portugese must be poor indeed. Still, it's an excellent song. Perhaps when I listen to the song in the future I'll be somehow able to ignore the fact that it's Portugese she's supposed to be singing in...
@j8nku i don't now about portugese, but this doesn't sound like swedish either. and debbie could sing anything in any language and still sing like an angel.
ACTUALLY, the portuguese lyrics are:
"Neste barco navegando, luz, som e calor, o azul desta
saudade... e o mar é tão calmo, solidão.
Neste barco navegando luz, som e amor, o azul
desta saudade... e o mar é tão calmo, solidão."
