did you build the kit or r/t/r? r/c will only operate throttle, not direction, right? Ive looked at these for a while and was more interested in the rounhouse sammie but the low us dollar is a deterrent. look up (bachmann live steam) they have a porter model coming out soon
It runs about 10 minutes. Just a case of very level track and trial and error with the throttle (also the Ruby runs better in reverse). I'm planning to install 2ch radio to give me more control ... and then off-level track should be less of a problem. Permanent track will have a small hill, or two, to add operational interest.

its nice to see a ruby running below light speeed , can you control it to run at about that speed for long?
