In the mean time download kega fusion and the complete sega genesis/mega drive rom set(both are free), and get a pc game controller and play away on a pc. By having all of the games that came out for the console on your computer you can sift through the good and the bad games, and then just get the games that you like. I used to have quite a bit of games for the genesis(I still do have some games), but now I just play them on a pc.

I was an 80's kid who thought Nintendo was the best ever. I played millions of games from 1987, 1988 and 1989. In 1992, a few years later, a conceited cousin of mine bought Sega Genesis. I had upgraded to Super Nintendo but my cousin thought he was so cool because he had the new Sega Genesis which he bought to show off. It's been years and I haven't forgotten...that bastard!

I'm pretty sure the kids knew that the cartridges came separately but since this is a promotion they might have thought that this Genesis comes with those 4 cartridges. Sometimes there were stores that actually sold the Genesis with an extra game or two. One thing I learn in Law school is that one should never leave anything vague; to the interpretation of another. Hence, the disclaimer.
