  • cool .. now if only my cages were so small and my birds wouldn't fly out hmmm...

I have 4 cages of birds atm .. 2 breeder cages with 2 parakeets each in them (not so bad) then there are the cages as tall as I am with at least 6 flighty birds in each cage (soft beak types). just walking past the cage makes them change perches!

  • IM not doing the press and seal beacuse i use gravel sheets for my birds. like they help there beaks on it they will sharpen there beaks on it

  • I loveeeeeeeeee the press and seal idea!! Im going to go ahead and go buy some LOL!!

  • Don't worry. even if it's more than 3 minutes, this is brilliant :D thank you for sharing :D

  • Is that the pervue clean life cage?? Im lookn to get that one.. do u feel the raised seed guard really works compared to a regular bird cage? Thanks

  • Brilliant! Thank you!

  • I have the same vacumm

  • very fast and easy

  • thanks for the ideas i am in a wheel chair and it seems like t takes me forever to change my canary's cage. I really don't like using newspapers either.

    thanks again :)

  • I like your video, but, the bleach is a bad idea. You should never use household cleaing supplies on ANY animal utilities. There are things at your local pet store that you should use instead that is meant for really dirty messes. I have a lovebird too and I know what your going through. I hope this advice will help your bird live longer since the fumes of bleach could harm your bird or after he/she licks a perch or whatever.

  • My birdie's cage is too big for the press n seal but that is indeed a great idea.

I change the papers every other day, use a vinegar solution once a week and use bleach once a month for sanitation but I rinse that off in the shower to get rid of residue.

  • takes me 20-25 minutes to clean my cage!

  • Use cat litter and will finsh in less than 3 min!!!!

  • With the bleach solution, I wouldn't do it when just wiping down in the cage. Thats when you do the whole cleaning of the cage so you can rinse it off really well. Less risk for the bird if any residue remains on the cage that way.

The press and seal isn't a good idea with birds who like to nip at papers etc, then they might end up swallowing some plastic bits, which is no good.

    Otherwise, neat idea.

  • Where do you get press and seal?

  • @bodboy790 at target or albertons, mostly at many grocery stores

  • I bought the press n seal the other day and I didn't change it yet cuz it's only been like 4 days! As soon as I came home, I cleaned the cage with the press n seal even though I cleaned the bird cage like 2 days b4!

  • Why not just take the cage in the sink and clean with warm soapy water . beside the KAYTEE cage is tough and rust proof.

  • You obviously haven't seen my Caiques cage after 3 or 4 days! It would be "how to clean a bird cage in 3 hours", lol. Great idea for SMALLER birds, but not the bigger bird cages! I WILL try the press-n-seal on the outside of the cage where the seed catchers are & they make their messes...BIIIIG messes, lol. We won't get in to the Amazons or the Macaw either, lol. Great idea though, good job. (I hope you took the toys out in order to show the cleaning process!)

  • very nice thxxx :)

  • there's not a single toy in that cage

  • I hope this is a joke!!!

  • so every bird cage has that thing in the bottom so u can just slide it open

  • Well now that's ingenious! I assume the bird got fresh water after dipping the paper towel in it lol :)

Our bird hangs on to the sides of the cage and poops on those bars, so it'd probably take more like 5 minutes for us. Great idea with the vacuum and press-n-seal.

  • omg, press'n'seal is a great idea, i always just use newspaper of paper towels and fold all the sides together but that still gets seed an stuff everywhere but im gonna get soe press'n' seal, that looks like it works a lot better, thanks for making this video ")

  • never would have thought of using press and seal, thanks

  • brilliant idea thankyou

  • sweet ill clean it that way it usally takes me 30 min

  • Why not use sand sheets?

  • sorry to dissapoint you,but you can t hhave a clean cage,if using your pet s water supply to clean the cage. You need hot water and a good antebavterial that doesn t affect your pet.

  • Why not? It's not like she wrung out the dirty paper towel back into the water. As long as you clean the water dish beforehand, I don't see the problem.

  • The press and seal is a GREAT idea! Thank You SO much for the idea!!!

  • lol i clean my bird cage less than 2min

  • i take like 30 mins.

  • what a great idea, thanks for the time saver ! Brilliant !

  • That press'n'seal idea is brilliant. *goes out and buy*

  • What are you talking about, you ignorant fool? This is not lazy. Some people don't even clean their poor pet bird's cage.

  • How do you clean the cage if your budgie isn't tame!??!?!

  • call a pro trainer to tame the bird or do the step up trick but keep ur hands strait

  • i just close all the windows and doors then let the budgie loose,

then once the cage is clean, it returns to the cage by itself to eat etc,

they usualy return to the cage by them selves,

  • If you have a cage where the top and bottom separate, wait til your budgie is on a perch, lift off the cage part and set it aside, then you can take your time with the base. For perch cleaning, unless you have an attack bird, all the birds I've had in the past (mix of budgies, 'tiels, flock of finches and now a macaw) will move aside as you clean. Just give them space to scoot the other way if need be or they might panic and try to bite.

  • Thanks for the info! I've found that plain water cleans droppings better than any cleansers, then disinfect twice a month

  • The Press and Seal is a great idea! I'm gonna have to try that... I have the same electrolux vacuum and I love it! Thanks for the tips.

  • omg! what alazy ass person!

  • what if the cage dose not have a grate on the bottom

  • then advise you get one cause cleaning is very hard other wise.

  • I like the press and seal idea. Lol. You could just laminate the whole cage with it!

I wish I could use that to line my cage's floors but they're too big. I just stick with used computer paper.

I like those food dishes that have a hood so all the food is contained. They mount on the door.

  • great idea with the press & seal. have to try it.

  • trying to save money for a cockatiel great tips thanx

  • Great tips for smaller birds! I use paper grocery bags underneath newspaper in my large parrot cages and it soaks up their poo so you can just scoop up the whole mess with all the food droppings in three or four bundles.

  • that is quite good what was that sheet you used

  • i was expecting three miniute but your method was way to long an extra 18 secs i cant do that it is too hard ;) lol

  • nice and clean

  • where are your birds

  • vinegar works well as a non toxic clener.

  • trying to get my mom to get a bird for me

  • i really, really want a pet budgie! i like your idea of putting that plastic stuff on the bottom of the cage so all you've got to do it thourgh it away. good idea.

  • good job!! Maybe SOMEONE will not think of cleaning her bird cage as a CHORE.....rather a race against time! haha...I LOVE YOU!
