  • Aww he's soo cute!! TB's are my favorite

  • i think its really good for building up his muscle, but he should always be able to touch the ground. if he drowns no one would be able to save him, considering how heavy horses are

  • wo

  • povero si sara rotto il cazzo da come sbuffa

  • how does it get in and out?

  • Wait- what?

  • how did the woman in the middle get there?

  • i always want to train horses this way .. actually help training <3

  • @TheHuntingFox Assuming its the same as the one at the racing yard I go to, there is a gate that will be swung across the ramp where the horse entered, the gate has a walk way on the bottom of it, the gate is then swung out the way to allow the horse out of the ring and up the ramp and then swung back to the middle so the person in the centre can get off, I hope this made sense!

  • @rupertbunyip The awkward moment when I was trying to reply the the comment below this one XD

  • @rupertbunyip *above *Leaves in shame*

  • Never saw a horse swim!!!

  • ich geh auch manchmal mit meinem pferd ins wasser aber nur so das es noch stehen kann oder manchmal auch kurz schwimmt aber das finde ich ist nicht ok pferde sind nicht fürt lange schwimm streken geeignet

  • that looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome

  • Hydro therapy can assist in recovery and take the load off joints. Pretty similar to the benefits it provides humans I guess.

  • LOL

  • Could somebody please answer my question. Is the reason why racehorses do this kind of exercise is to build muscle? Please no rude replies. I want to get my facts straight

  • @cybele9876 I think so. I could be wrong though.. Swimming can be extremely therapeutic to horses, so it could also be for relaxing tense muscles

  • @cybele9876 I very much doubt this is to build muscle - though that is indeed a good benefit of swimming. This rather looks like a vet's establishment of some kind, and the horse is in rehab for some kind of injury. But it's definitely to build some kind of muscle. =)

  • @Nizingur you just completely contradicted yourself...

  • @xXeMokiDXxMCRXx Some KIND of muscle ... as in muscle rehab for broken legs or bowed tendons or building after stall rest, on a horse that's still unrideable. Not normal "let's build muscle cause swimming is cool even though I can ride" muscle building. Yeah, I worded myself clumsily.

  • @Nizingur It is fantastic for any horse, we have one at our ranch for gypsy vanners and it is so good for everything, same as swimming is fantastic exercise for us, it is fantastic eercise for horses no matter what state they are in, either hydrotherapy or just in general.

  • @xXeMokiDXxMCRXx Absolutely : )

  • Cool! He probably enjoys this!

  • why are they doing that to the horse? It probably doesn't like it.

  • @AirCanMaster quite the contrary, horses do like this. It helps get them in shape, and it causes less stress on them than regular riding. This is most likely a young horse they are getting ready to race and one of the best things you can do for them is have them swim. when I worked on a Racing farm the horses never put up any resistance when going into the pool, in fact we had to hold them back!

  • @eques101 lol someone once brought a puppy to our house, and they put him ankle deep into our pool. After that I had to keep picking him up cause he'd keep running towards it.

  • ahahaah!

  • This is cruel. The horse obviously doesnt want to do this. This isn't TERRIBLE, but if it looks like it doesnt want to do it, please don't do it :/

  • @RooneyBolland01 Please, shut up! About this cruel and terrible crap. will you..

  • @RooneyBolland01 i dont like geting vaccines, should i not do it n get cancer n die a slow painful death? no. a quick 15 min swim for a horse is actual good for them. aquatic therapy helps the horse stretch n strengthen muscles they would not normaly use on land. u should really do some research before making ignorant comments

  • How old will this horse be before you shoot it? Horses live until they're 45 years old, four times longer than their career - will you be taking such good care of this horse right up until it's death? Or will you shoot it because it injured it's leg one day & don't want/ have the money to treat it?

  • @trogirogir9 The fuck is the matter with you?

  • OF COURSE THE HORSE IS FINE. IN FACT HE/SHE IS PROBABALY HAPPY HORSES LIKE SWIMMING ( MY FREINDS DOES)

  • I'm sure they don't make him swim to a point of total exhaustion, which is the only way I could think of it being mean. It's actually pretty smart because he less likely to get hurt this way but he can build twice the muscle and stamina. Cool.

  • Your so mean ! Poor horse !

  • @abz83386 haha, you really think that the horse suffers? I hope that you're joking :''''D

  • @abz83386 This horse is fine. LOL. He's building up some extra muscle in there. They don't make the horse do it long. The water resistance helps them build muscle and he can do it without sweating or becoming too warm. Most racehorses go through it. Beats running around the racetrack for an hour a day.

  • @abz83386 lol you're dumb.

  • Is this training him? Or building his muscle? Really interesting.

  • Add Alpha Boost Juice for an amazing recovery!

  • this is so cool. i've never heard of having a racing horse swim to help build up muscle. i don't care if this comment makes me soound stupid, my horse likes swimming but she's practicaly jello:) but i love my little 8 year old filly:) i know she's not a filly but someone should tell HER that!

  • we had an appolsosa that severely injured her leg and my dad would take her swimming in our pond every day. after she healed she never any problem with that leg. although she did reach out farther with that leg at any gait, but she was sound.

  • @PaintedPicasso Amen. And thank you.

  • Cool!

  • haha good point

  • how does the person get in the middle ?

  • I wonder if Reno would enjoy swimming...I know he loves rolling in mud.

  • What the fuck? A scared horse in a swimmingpool! Is thisspecies-appropriate? NOOO!

  • @Ninafucksyou He's not scared, he's working incredibly hard. The pressure of the water means that a few laps around that equals roughly an hour of HARD work in a school. Circular pools don't help either, as it compresses one lung and can cause bleeding.

  • otarios !!!

  • Water horse

  • Before I read the description, I thought the horse was undergoing some physical rehabilitation in that kind of pool. I was not aware horse training involved swimming. I guess I learn something new today. ^-^

  • @Nekokittybird It helps train stamina and endurance without putting strain on their muscles and tendons. :)

  • where is that can i take my arab there he flabby?? lol

  • @RockenArab You'd need to build him up a bit first if he's flabby, it's hard :D

  • This is a very productive way of stretching a horses muscles i swim my friends mums 16hh tb in a pool at their agistment centre and then my friend will go with her 14.2hh it is very rare tho cuz we dont usually go there when its boiling hot we take the horses to the beach!

  • haha!! cute horse ! =P

  • Dat wook fun fun?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • It's for race horses to build up leg muscles:p doesn't hurt them

  • building up what?

  • Poor thing :L

  • @MissBrooke147 you're an idiot.

  • this is interesting!

  • how do they get him out of the pool

  • great swimmers, the only reason they have cross ties, is to ensure the horse is safe, ie; not running into the walls an causing injury. It makes me extremely frustrated when people log on to YouTube just to make comments on random videos that they most likely know nothing about. Thus more if you did not agree with the video then ask yourself this; why did you watch it, it's not too hard to just search for something else or better yet log off. So before you make comments that ultimately make

  • @sam10w I so agree! My horse loves it when I take him swimming! :)

  • @sam10w Your right This is good for the horse muscle

  • @sam10w ok here's my question since you seem to know something about the topic. How do you know when the horse is completely exhausted? There is no where for it to rest it's feet and it will keep swimming until it's feet touch solid ground otherwise it will believe it's going to drown? obviously it's not going to drown because of the controlled conditions, but it doesnt know that.

  • @sam10w Yeah it looks like the girl in the inner circle is having quite a hard time keeping him straight! :P Pretty awesome video anyway.

  • In many ways humans are not the most intelligent creature, we like to think that, but what instincts do we have? Feeling drawn to food that is easily provided for you is hardly instinct, the things animals can do are amazing, like this horse swimming. Although many of you may believe they are forcing the horse to do this, they are in fact not. If you look closely you can see that the position of the horses ears are indicated that he or she is enjoying themselves, like many mammals horses are

  • its like water therapy... its there to build up your strength

  • i love thoroughbreds <3

  • That is so cute :D I wish u had a horse like that he's buetiful:D

  • How did the person in the middle get there? :L

  • @Claireeee64 LOL, good question. xDD Beautiful horse by teh way. :3

  • I love the little red lifesaver...like that would save a horse...

  • sorry, meant to say frosty (chelsea is my frend's horse :)

  • M yohrse is a 7 year old white arabian named chelsea and i was ridin her on the beach. it was so funny cause she ran into the water. lol :)

  • Does he/she likes to swim?

  • How did that woman get to the island without getting wet?

  • @oceansprinter Perhaps a temp bridge or board is placed across.

  • @oceansprinter For all of you wondering how the person got to the island, she rode the horse through the water. But she had to standup on his head so she wouldn't get wet. Kinda like when the Gingerbread Man rode the wolf across the river. The wolf convinced him to ride on his snout til he ate the poor Gingerbread Man.

  • the horse looks like he was enjoying that =)

  • People who blindly say things are cruel need to stop and fact check first. Horses are naturally good swimmers, and many horses enjoy the experience. This is not a traditional swimming pool, the horse has an area where the water banks out and it can walk out whenever it wants

  • they look like big doggies swimming!

  • My horse LOVES going into the water... horses are naturally good swimmers, once they realize that they can indeed swim. They are apprehensive about going into water at first, but once they're in, it takes very little effort to get them in the water after that... the hard part is getting them OUT of the water... they would rather stay in :-)

  • And also, if a horse was forced to run on a track it wouldn't give it all if it didn't love it. That would mean it wouldn't win alot either, and not be used. Race horses usually love their job, cause it is their job and it's running in their blood. Goosh, im so tired of ignorant people.

  • Water training is much better for a horses legs, hence the weight of them is not on the legs anymore. Horses, and many other animals mentioned here, like dogs etc, are intelligent, not just humans who are. If the horses wanted out we would be able to se that. The horse isn't freaking out, and i doubt they would be able to force the horse into that water, since if anyone of you knows, horses are kinda strong animals. >_>

  • honestly people this isnt cruel. horses are naturally good swimmers and runners. race horses are treated very well. they are well fed, exercised, and checked and rechecked all day long. they are trained by professionals, monitored by vets, and cared for by their own grooms. each horse gets assigned a human to care for its every need. there are many misconceptions about the race industry. and exercise is part of caring for an animal. maybe people like to laze in a recliner but horses dont. :)

  • At 0:21 the bald man turns into a women. This is soooo trippy!

  • @snooklefritzen Its actually really good no/low-impact training for them. Some horses really enjoy it. And you don't need the quotations around Thoroughbred, because thats what he is, not what they're making him. And it more conditioning than training. Please do your research before poop-flinging at people. This technique has been researched and proven beneficial if done correctly.

  • @SaraSindari -- I know the definition of thoroughbred. I know these horses are being conditioned. I have done my research. Perhaps it is true that "some" of the horses enjoy this mandatory swimming. I have a problem with humans forcing their will onto animals. Maybe race horses don't WANT to race, ever think of that? I hate horse races, dog races, zoos, the circus, etc. Animals are all completely innocent and it's our job as the intelligent species to care for them, not use them.

  • @snooklefritzen I think forcing a horse to run at that young an age sucks. But horses that truely love it should be able to race. And as for zoos, some species are completely extinct in the wild and only exist in zoos, and sometimes they are the only way the public ever knows about an endangered species. I never knew about the plight of snow leopards, or panamanian golden frogs until the zoo. And now I support their rescue efforts.

I dislike animal cruelty, but know there is a balance.

  • @snooklefritzen Intelligent species? are you serious?

  • @snooklefritzen I think you are one of those HIPPIES who only know half the story and are defending animals that don't need defending. In some cases there are animal cruelty but you are looking in the wrong place. Clearly this animal is doing it out of free will not fighting not running away and is confused. This horse is clearly enjoying his exercise in the pool. If he didnt want to he could leave the pool on the ledge in the back.

  • @snooklefritzen and that is something that will always happen, ppl use animals for their own enjoyment and aniamls put up with it, some happily, others not so much

  • @snooklefritzen hahahaha swim or drown? Yes I'm sure those people would just let him drown. Do you have a dog maybe a cat or even a fish? How about a house plant. Would your house plant naturally grow inside? Arent you forcing it to grow in your house? Dogs too, they are forced to live with people. Horses like athletic tasks. They are also very fond of routine. Many horses aim to please and are happy to have partnerships and work with humans. These people obviously care very much for this animal

  • @snooklefritzen Although your comment is REALLY REALLY old, and I hope you already know this, the horse isn't being forced or anything, actually, some horses really do enjoy the nice cool water for very hot and/or warm days that possibley can't fit them, its obviously not cold, as you can see for what they are wearing and all, this horse is actually enjoying it. It actually would be fun doing this with a horse, swimming actually helps your leg muscles and such. ^^ They are helping this horse. :3

  • funny how its in a circle.. my one is in a square.. hmm.

  • how does the lady get in the middle circle of the pool? hahaha

  • @Ghorseyluver good point

  • @Ghorseyluver how does the horse get in the pool? haha

  • @Ghorseyluver good question, but mine is how did the horse get in there

  • @dariocrr2trider They had a ramp i'm pretty sure

  • @Ghorseyluver A bridge

  • @Ghorseyluver Maybe put something across and then the horse got in :)

  • @Ghorseyluver probably a detachable bridge of some sort

  • @Jritchie1928 Are you sure? I don't see a detached bridge and she looks kind of wet.

  • Pretty neat idea! Good workout for race horses, if you do it right

  • I think that is the coolest idea! the horse get's the exercise it needs without wear and tear on their joints! the idea is rather amazing :)

  • For all those wondering how the girl got in the middle, they probably put a board over the water for her to cross. Really people? Let's think about it for a second.

  • You can tell the horse isnt being pulled because the rope things are corved.. if the horse was being pulled they would be tight! and they need to help it because it it were to get to tired ti contined on the other side then it would need help keeping its head above the water

  • i want one of those@

  • How did the person get out do the middle!!??

  • @horselover12121212

I know at the one at the physiotherapist we use for our horse, a bridge kinda like a drawbridge can be raised or lowered to get them to the middle (:

  • @horselover12121212 well obviously they swim over! xD

  • lol he loves it

  • leave the damn horse alone and let him swim the way he wants to.

  • @azishazi2 Learn about swimming a horse.

  • my showjumping pony had tht she had her owh phisoterpist

  • how does the girl get to the middle lol?

  • @Georgieloveponies She stood on the horse.

  • It's like "keep swimming, keep swimming..." lol

  • I see a lifesaver hanging on the pole. Is that for the horse?

  • @ImOfNope hehe when I saw this I thought " the lifesaver candy?" :P

  • So cute supose 2 get one

  • how did that girl get into the middle?

  • for people who think its bad, theyre not pulling it, theyre keeping its head above the water, and my mom works at the racetrack as a tech, its actaully a good way that some trainer use to strengthen the horse and build muscles, making it faster when racing, for example when you try to run in water and it slows you down, you use move muscles than if you were just running on the ground (:

  • Beutiful Horse :)

  • how does the lady in the middle come to that circle? she has to jump or something right? or does she has a bridge or something like that?

  • i bet that does help relax the muslces and stuff. i love how their feet move under water

  • Most horses live swimming! No one in their right mind would force a horse that didn't. The ropes are for guidance to prevent the horse getting too close to the sides and injuring themselves.

  • Haha did that guy jump into the middle of the pool,,, love the way they swimm <3 x

  • thats nice that they have a variety of workouts its not just running in circles at the track! They get to swim too!

  • I love the lifesaver on the pole int he middle there....like in case the horse needs someone to toss it a flotation device...

  • i find it amazing how horses can swim. kudos (:

  • how did that person get into the middle of the pool? =S

  • comment a fait la personne qui est au milieu pour aller au milieu...? bon, ok, j'arrête de pauser des questions stupides... mais quand même, c'est vrai...

  • swimming is a great way of exercise for any animal whether it is human or horse or cat or any species really. It helps build muscles yet it can make your heart and joints not ache afterwards. I do not have a horse of my own but I can tell that they love it! It is a great way of exercise and such a great way to have fun! XD

  • thats not cruel at all they love it!

  • did you see that he is being pulled ??

  • @vixon225 its not being pulled, they are helping to keep the horses head above the water and guiding it around the pool.

  • @purplepony24 and to mention, there is a good slack in the lunge lines or what ever ya call them, just enough for the horse to keep his head abovie water

  • @MajiksGurl224 exactly, and if the horse didnt like it, it would refuse to get in there, and when a horse doesnt want to do something, they wont do it!

    :) x

  • @purplepony24 nope, they would really hurt someone for it too. my horse is really nervy when it comes to water, he will drink outa the hose but goes crazy when he gets his weekly bath for the show. but he just stands there and shakes, haha

  • @purplepony24 not to mention you can clearly see that the rope doesn't have any tension on it, and it is loose almost the entire time.

  • @purplepony24 And what horse is not able to do it itself???

Becomes more and more ridiculous - horses need shoes to walk 100 m in a concrete from the stables to training area and then to perform on the sand and other soft soil. And now it needs "help" in swimming.....

  • their holding the ropes loosely to keep his head up you idiot.

  • it's not funny

  • the horse can always get out

  • how dose she get out of the center?

  • Puts down a small bridge.

  • the water goes out and the pool floor comes up carrying the horse

  • they have a board they put from inside to outside and they walk across it.

  • how deos the horse get out ?

  • at 0:21 you can see over to the left the pool doesn't continue in a circle. That's where it gets out.

  • @Kamakaze07070 the real question is how does the gal get out? :-P

  • Quiero ver a Torrox!
