@zacefronswife100 its because us women these days are too obssesed in botox, plastic surgeries, and excesive make up. Oh and most are not taking care of their health like eating a good diet and going to the gym.
@zacefronswife100 same here. One thing I know for sure is that I will never do plastic surgery nor botox. Some of the women dont know limits to stop using botox or plastic surgery. And these days we dont take good care of our bodies like working out (no good diet, anorexia, obese).
@carol9909 i know women back then didn't this is kinda awkward to talk about this on a Carmen Miranda video & this has nothing to do w/Carmen Miranda but it's my fault that i started this.
i don't understand a word they are singing b/c it's Portuguese, idk 1 word in Portuguese although i like when Lucille Ball lip syncs to this song in I Love Lucy & she dresses up like Carmen & dances like her. Carmen is so beautiful.
@zacefronswife100 I know a bit--"mama, may I have it, mama may I have it" what she wants is apparently a double entredre on some words that portugese/brazilians would understand.
am from England, and i grew up listening to this song, i think i first herd it on tom and Jerry lol, i started copying off her great face expressions and dances, i think no1 can take there eyes off her when she preforms, amazing artist, and her fashion style should defo be brought back.
Down Argentine Way (1940), Carmen Miranda's entrance into Hollywood filmdom and establishing her as an eternal Technicolor icon for generations yet to come. Miranda's two musical numbers were actually filmed by Fox in New York City as Carmen was then appearing on Broadway. Air travel in 1940 was not what it is today. The footage was then cut into the film in true, old Hollywood fashion. Magnífico!
@Fiftiesflashback Wow, thanks for that tidbit! I love Carmen Miranda. FYI did you know that she had a clause in her movie contract, whereby when she was singing, they were not allowed to pan away to other actors/actresses speaking dialogue.
@phyzzique Many thanks. It was a very common practice in Hollywood well into the 1960s for the camera to cut away from a musical production number to show another character's or the audiences' reaction to that production number. Even in GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES the camera pans away from Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe at the height of their stage act. Miranda evidenally saw the production value of continuity. Check out: Carol Channing - A Corset Can Do A Lot For A Lady here on youtube.
Mamãe eu quero, mamãe eu quero, Mamãe eu quero mamar! Dá a chupeta! Dá a chupeta! Ai! Dá a chupeta Dá a chupeta pro bebê não chorar! Dorme filhinho do meu coração! Pega a mamadeira e entra no meu cordão.
Carmem Miranda a DIVA Luso e Luso-Brasileira. Grande cantora lusófona. Esse pessoal escrevendo comentário BABACAS tome cuidado. Respeito é bom! Viva o Brasil e Portugal.

Why were women so beautiful back then? Must've been the styles they had in the old days, their styles were better back then than they are now.
