They will run out. In addition, we are changing the climate through their use. The biosphere will not be as habitable as the temperatures continue to rise.

We need to quickly shift to renewable energy sources. Reducing our numbers BEFORE the worst happens is also essential.

Yep, I've heard about possible cooling trend; part of the natural cycle. Good thing as it would be even warmer than it is.

As for "why bother", that's easy. If it does happen to cool naturally for a period it certainly cycle back. We've been changing the composition of the atmosphere and oceans in a way that isn't favorable to life as we've known it. When it does heat up again it will do so all the more. Read about ocean acidification; warm or cool its a major problem.

No kidding there are natural cycles of warming and cooling. They have been taken into consideration. Read about the earth's orbital variations and "wobbles" for more on this.
