Shankaracharya is NOT the founder Non-Dualism. He was an active proponent of Non-Dualism. Non-Dualism was already discussed in detail, in all the Upanishads, Shankara did an excellent job in bringing it to the world.
@kgrusa123 its because he now knows that rituals are pointless...because the path of knowledge is higher than that of rituals....so Sankara advices him to comment on his work...because many still run after rituals with ANIMALS MADE OF DOUGH but this man doesnt......thinking it's futile and Shankara agrees..think of it from that point of view....but otherwise ur ryt...it doesnt make sense being sad that animal sacrifice was banned...i personaly would be happy the Buddhists banned it

that black brahmin is actually Yama Deva, Lord of Death. Thats why Shankaracharya chuckles to himself. Because ironically even though Yama Deva has taken the life of his father, and later mother. Is with him at all times, till he completes the task of establishing Advaita and achieving Brahmanhood.
