i have to wonder what the japanese national championship is like. i'd imagine hundreds, if not thousands of legitimate otakus in a frenzied mass, high on caffeine and screaming at the tops of their lungs. heated competition intertwined with respectful displays of sportsmanship. these people are quieter, more subdued. seemingly less concerned with the tournament play and more with the pokemon-themed fun/comics convention-esque atmosphere of the festivities.
