I loved the end of lost, I felt it tied everything together, some things are better without constant questions, and I really loved how the show made me feel when I watched it, even if I watched it after the show finished, but I love it non the less. Great video ^-^
just like in life we dont know all the answers of the universe, so why shuld we know all the answers to LOST's universe? if ppl are going to let those mysteries ruin one of the most (maybe THE most) amazing television shows of all time and a beautiful finale then i actually feel bad for them :)
good review my friend. thats exactly what i've been telling ppl, if all you were looking for in the finale was to every every petty answer explained then you missed the entire point of lost. EVERY SINGLE EPISODE FOCUSES ON A CHARACTER, and some mystery mighty be attached to that chacter but it is not the main point. Lost always, from start to finish, was a story about people and relationships.
This Video is completely spot on. Still can't believe some people still think they were all dead on the island. I don't even know what points to that theory being possible to be honest.
@lillieloves I'm sure you know this by now, but the images of the plane wreckage (no bodies) shown during the ending credits was NOT part of the show. It was just filler that ABC put in so people could "decompress" before the local news started. It confused a lot of fans so ABC made a statement 2 days after the finale aired telling people that they just added that in. If you listen to the conversation between Jack and his father it is VERY CLEARLY stated that everything that happened was real.
I cried at the ending. I came away satisfied, although I wish we could have one more season. Love the Ben and Hurley management team. LOL. You've given such good rationale for why the series is worth it, even if all questions aren't answered. Some people miss the point. Nice review.
Your review is perfect. Those were my thoughts exactly. I'm starting to get sick of all the people complaining and saying that the ending was a cop-out.
Jack, only survivor of a plane wreck, must reconcile his guilt over hating his drunk father who belitttles him (no stuff kiddo) He's so obsessed proving his father wrong, he ruins his marraige. As he dies, he invents a place where he can be heroic, kill his rationalism (FLOCK) and protect hope and light (FAITH). He is able to forgive himself. He doesn't "die alone" in a prevaricated universe with make believe friends, which allows him to move on "together". In reality, it's just a dog.
@blazingman311 You don't need mysticism to explain a satisfying ending, in that I would hope every waking moment I'd be trying to resolve and explain my demons.
I don't need "we all gather at the manger" endings to find fulfillment.
@blazingman311 ALL JACK'S FANTASY. And an appeal by writers who know they've painted MURDERERS Sayid, Kate, and Sawyer so prettily, child abusers like Christian (killing Jack's self worth) they have to show everybody going to the white light? Give us a break.
Jack sinks to his knees in the jungle, same time he sinks into a pulpit and sees the white light all brains deprived of oxygen see at death? He's HALLUCINATING and trying to die easy by exorcising his demons.
@fnorkle I think you're looking too far into it. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I think yours is far from what the writers intended.
@TheLemonzip You're right! Actually reason (MIB) needs to be killed in favor of faith (Jacob), and three murderers, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, need to spend a little time in Purgatory (which of course, is Los Angeles) and they all go to heaven in a scene best described as "we all gather at the river". And the reason, they're pretty , and we've invested 6 years where the writers, boxed into a corner, provide pseudo religious pap to a gullibe crowd.
i hate people who don't understand lost but you seem to know what your talking about =)

@fnorkle No but your explanation is so far-fetched its silly.
