  • Transcription is by Tausig

and the performer is Matti Raekallio

  • kill the wabbit kill the wabbit

  • Whats the painting?

  • it is a amazing song...

  • Who is the pianist????

  • I wonder if this is Michael Ponti playing this Tausig transcription. The ArkivMusic website lists Ponti as playing this on a 1992 VoxBox release called "Operatic piano" but it appears to be out of print. Anyone have this 2-CD set who could confirm?

  • What is that painting?

  • @cyranodesavignon "Dagr" by Peter Nicolai Arbo.

  • @cyranodesavignon Thank you

  • Sounds like my old music teacher from school playing a warm-up for morning assembly on the upright that was kept for her mad rantings on the key board,,,,, must try to remember her name or prehaps not and keep her out of my already overcrowded nightmares,,,,,,,,

  • maravilhoso espetacular musica ariana

  • Guys I FOUND IT !!!! I have the sheet music for this arrangement. The thing is MONUMENTAL and almost impossible to play. This dude left no key unused, The piece has 6-note chords for each hand and gigantic arppeggios for both hands. But that's the least difficult thing. The Speed ..... geez. You finish a 40 note arppeggio and a millisecond after that you have a 10 note chord to play with both hands, and the thing is about 2 or 3 octaves lower. >.>

send me a pm and ur email 4 it.

  • @WildStarvingWolf That sounds pretty much impossible. Not to mention in the speed.

  • @WildStarvingWolf cornel_d_s at hotmail dot com, if you please.

  • wow, Apocalypse Now was such an intense movie, nicely done cover!!!!!

  • this reminds me of star wars

  • Wow! Chopin + Beethoven = Wagner.

  • Wagner was acutely anti-semitic. Although many Europeans were in his time, his was a particularly vehement strain of racism. This is a stirring piece but this intellectual flaw, revealed through his anti-enlightenment views on race, relegate Wagner's work from the top echelon of German music. It is a cultural defect which will forever blemish his reputation. Although it does serve to demonstrate his inferiority to Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and Mendelssohn (the Liszt goes on).

  • @Sprongo Sorry to those who came to enjoy the music and for playing into the "he was an antisemite" charge,BUT.... all goy ,especially whites ,are n*ggers and you know why?**WE** are forever answering to charges of antisemitism and I've yet to hear a Jew answer to charges of anti Euro -ism,anti Arab-ism etc etc...Such a term doesn't even exist because it's **assumed** that we are n*ggers but for few decent ones.

  • @spentonmediocrity Can you speak english please?

  • @spentonmediocrity Can you speak english please so i can understandand and maybe reply.

  • @spentonmediocrity could you write in normal english, please?

  • @Sprongo Neither Schubert nor Liszt were Germans by the way... and Wagner popularity only decreased with the aftermath of the III Empire. Up till then there was scope to reconsideration of his vast influence, especially in the wake of the vanguard movements.

  • thumbs up for a "How to Play" for this song

  • great version, but the monkeylike moronic postings make it hard to simply find the answer to the Q who the performer was. hey anti-racist bigmouth, develop your linguistic skills and take some valium and remember it isn't cool to be such a menace just because you are cowardly sitting in your undies behind a computer screen. when i was young the question was: what if you gave everyone a microphone? now we know.

  • I listen to Der Ring des Nibelungen in my car. Makes for an interesting ride.

  • is the picture kinda moving or am i really tired?

  • @VargFarkas I kinda soaw the same thing for a bit...possibly just the sign of a good painting...

  • thats one hot slut!

  • very hard to do this on a piano. good effort !

  • Thank you for posting this version. It would be very interesting to know who made this arrangement and who is the performer.

  • This has so much feeling to it, it makes you wanna shoot a gook

  • @IWannaTalkToSamson1

Your comment reeks of so much racism I want to shoot you

  • @09Libertarian and I would like your parent to get cancer but we cant get everythink we want it is christmas so you never know fingers crossed :)

  • @IWannaTalkToSamson1

already dead asshole, your dreams will never happen.... fuck you you racist piece of shit

  • @09Libertarian Awww well my xmas dreams come good tidings and terminal illness to you and all your family :)

  • Valkyries

  • geez. its a marathon of pages. 14 pages of non stop fast playing.. no breaks. goodness.

  • Um, did Hitler like peas? If he did, does anyone bang on about..."Hey, it's peas with chips, does that mean I'm a Nazi, lol" Na, sod Hitler and just enjoy the music.

  • I think this was Hitler's favourite song. Hitler was a brilliant man. He was evil and horrible but he was very clever and had excellent taste in music and art. There's nothing wrong with liking the same music as Hitler. Just as I find nothing wrong with liking Hitler's paintings which only didn't get very far because people were really only interested in modernist art at that point. Yes he was a horrible man but he was also had very good taste.

  • @SonOfDeutschland actually his favorite opera was Rienzi.

  • @Maestoso28

no it was Tristan und Isolde

  • @SonOfDeutschland As much as i hated Hitler, i could'nt agree more with you. Well said

  • what is the name of the painting and who is it by?

  • ...........wow....just wow....

  • i prefere the original played by orchestra

but it's interesting to hear it on piano

  • If I could choose just one song to listen to before death, I would choose "Flight of the Valkyrie"!

  • lmao i didn't mean to start all this shit...all i meant was that hitler had good taste lol.

  • The guy on the horse is hot.

  • Why are people arguing about this? Who cares that Hitler liked this music? Racists, murderers, child molesters--chances are tons of them like the music you like, hell, Wagner himself was an anti-semite. It has nothing to do with the ideals of who made the music, and definitely not the ideals of those that listen to the music, it is about the music itself.

  • And who is playing ?

  • Thanks for this ! Is this Liszt's Version ??

  • @EtrofOnaip This is a Transcription by Tausig :)

  • @ga199337 My question is : WHO is playing

  • älskar den:)

  • For anything Wagner doesn't wrote this piece for piano, you can play very well, but if it isn't interpreted as the original, it lose the cache.

  • What is the name of the painter of that picture? He was Norwegian?

  • @TristanSD Peter Nikolai Arbo/\.

  • I prefer this piece ovet the full set because it reminds me of the movie to much

  • Normal steh ich ja nicht so auf klassik, aber das ist echt gut...!

  • brillant version! perfect! I love it!

  • a piece that you've to have very good skills

  • Man it just doesn't sound right on one instrument.

  • @grantrithor thats the power of the piano, it can replace an orchestra.

  • Comment removed

  • @geluziu22: No one gives a shit.

  • mutha truck, don't fucking ruin it for everyone bro its chill

  • It probably was his favorite song. I'm not afraid to admit that I enjoy the same music that Hitler did. He had good taste.

  • @ktm64 >>> Can you crazy people not listen to Wagner's music without mentioning Hitler! It's all been said before ad nauseam. Ad fucking nauseam. Lots of people love and have loved Wagner's music including lots of famous people, good and bad. Hitler was an extremely evil man and if you are aware of this then you would be much wiser not to give him the time of day. Fuck Hitler.

  • @lewars1912 You are bit right, but i don't think that i shoud not like Wangers music only beacuse that Hitler love it. and i'm saying it to you as a Jew from Israel. Wagner was sick, and brillient, and same goes to Hitler. Hitler was sick indeed, and yes, fuck him. I like Edvard Grieg too, he was brillient.

Anyway, i see Hitler as history, and nothing more ;)

    Hope you understand me.

    Yuval.

  • @Yuvalboo >>>Yes. I understand you ok. I mistakenly posted the comment to you and then deleted it as it was meant for ktm64. I'm sorry for being aggressive in my comment. Best wishes.

  • @Yuvalboo

I dont see hitler as brilliant he was the right man in the right time.

  • @danielschiffers Belive what you want man. I don't think it is true, for Hitler was working for his own ideology, not mine. I don't see him as a monster, only as a man who wanted to impelment his own sick dreams.

    best wishes

    Yuval.

  • @Gargantupimp HAHAHA---NEIN

    FUCK BAD PEOPLE

    WHITE PEOPLE RULZ

  • @ktm64 I'm not dead

  • @ktm64 That he did.

  • @ktm64 Was Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven ;)

  • @ktm64 ... oh, yea .. so much good taste that he spat the mirror any time he saw his own reflection ..!

Why should you be afraid of saying what you wish ? You are not living in the " 1000 Jahres Reich " !

Assholes don't get gassed nowadays ...

  • @ktm64 Oh no he didn't. He would just read and listen to good stuff so that people would THINK that he has good taste. He couldn't feel this. He was reading Nietzsche thinking that he's a superhuman, but he was too much of a stupid and small minded moron to realize what was Nietzsche talking about.

  • AWESOME piano piece! I really wanna learn it!

  • A true genius!

  • which transcription is this?

  • Awesome!!! I was just attempting to play this and thought I'd try and find it youtube for inspiration.

  • There are lots of transcriptions.

  • This is the Carl Tausig Piano Solo arrangement of this song. I have the PDF my friend Simon plays this one and it amazes me how awesome it is but way too much effort required to play it! I bow down before the clean performance by the person performing on this video.
