That isn't not the point. The prophet said that his family should be loved for the sake of him. So it does make a difference if you are Ahul Bayt. Maybe not on Judgement day but it certainly means we should treat them well.

No sons= no relation isnt true, maybe what you meant is you cant legally argue in Arabia that you are the prophets descendant. Off course what I said was Ahl Bait which off course is much more than the prophets sons. This however doesnt meen the prophet(saw) doesnt have his descendants through Fatima and other daughters. I think we should stick to Ahl Bait because we cant have big arguments about that, Ali was Ahl Bait and he had male descendants

First of all, the prophet(saw) did have a son called Ibraheem.

RasulAllah(saw) said: He also said: "The first of my Umma on whose behalf I shall intercede on the Day of Resurrection will be the People of my House, then those nearest, then those nearest among the Quraysh then the Ansar then those who believed in me and followed me among the people of Yemen then the rest of the Arabs, then the non-Arabs. Those I intercede for first are the best." Narrated from Ibn `Umar by al-Tabarani.

The salaf are our pious predecessors. Being someone who is a decendent of the prophet(saw) does not give you a head start in gaining Allah's pleasure, deeds are based on intention regardless of who you are. But as clearly demonstrated from the hadith i mentioned it is a privilage to be close to the messenger in any way. Key point to remember is that the greatest man after the prophets is Abu Bakr (ra) who was not from the ahlul bayt. So it doesn't negate the potential of others

the most authenticated of the two weighty things is Qur'an and ahl al-bayt(AS) NOT Qur'an and Sunnah. The one mentioning Sunnah is only found twice. where as the one mentioning the family of Muhammad (SAWS) is mass transmitted.

and common sense would show anyone the elevated status of the family of our beloved Rasool (SAWS). Only a nasibi wouldn't recognize such a thing.
