She is really amazing singer and to be frank, she sings much more fantastic when she sings opera songs or huge scale gospels like this. Her voice suits perfect with these songs rather than ballad or pop songs. I l.eally look forward to her growing with so much talent and more!! I understand why people say she is an angel.

i dont think she has true talent. true talent isnt something you learn from a teacher like she did. true talent is something your born with and you dont have to be taught... but thats what i think

At the audition an instructor will listen to you sing, then point out your strengths and weaknesses and let you know if he/she can help you. If you really have singing talent, a teacher will show you the techniques that will allow you to sing effortlessly and with great power so you don't hurt your vocal chords.

I am waching PBS with Jackie I don't thing my sixty seven year old heart can take much more. In all my years never,never have I heard anything like this. I only think God he sent her to all of us and me in my lifetime here on earth. She will have a long time to bring happiness in this troubled world make us forget what ever worrys we have.

However,it's unfair how she got on the show. Instead of auditioning with everyone else, she got on the show through youtube. She skipped multiple rounds, and because of one online performance she got on the show and got a runner up? I just don't think it's fair for the other performers who traveled and rehearsed and went through the stress of show after show after show, while she did one try out and she's on the show

I'm a little behind on the news about this talented young vocalist...but holy crap..she is amazing. Jackie has an outstanding voice!! I also appreciate her grace and modesty. She is truly a prodigy, and my prayer is that she'll give the glory to God someday. A beautiful young girl. :)
Of course technically and volume wise she will improve over the next years but never the less she is already the most moving and devine performer and that makes her the biggest star of all times. She will just get better every day on her path to become a legend.
Does anyone else not feel ill at seeing a young child "prodigee" exploited by people for the whim at fame and celebrity that their parents might experience? This girl has great potential with her voice; however, allowing the child to experience her childhood, and enrolling her in a proper musical school might be better than parading the poor thing across internationally syndicated television broadcasts. Does anyone else feel that this young girl is being misused by adults?

All I know is. I am ruined for life. I was just listening to Paul Potts sing Ave Maria and I caught myself cringing a couple times. I had to come back here and listen to Jackie sing it the way that it should be sung. What really bothers me is when Paul came out as a singer I really really liked him and I still do.. Bust after listening to Jacke I cant go back and listen to anyone else. The addiction to her voice is remarkable. Pierce isn't kidding when he says this performance is perfection.

Jackie is a 'Classical Crossover' singer. Not an Opera singer. And she has no intentions of becoming one in the future. So you're comparisons are useless.
Compare her to Sarah Brightman or Haley Westenra or many of the other 'crossover' singers, and she is right up there with them.
Matter of fact, she was voted #1 on Classical Crossover Uk for 2010.

I love her voice so much. She definitely is extraordinarily talented
However,it's unfair how she got on the show. Instead of auditioning with everyone else, she got on the show through youtube. She skipped multiple rounds, and because of one online performance she got on the show and got a runner up? I just don't think it's fair for the other performers who traveled and rehearsed and went through the stress of show after show after show, while she did one try out and she's on the show

I saw Jackie at Boco. She took charge of 2200 fans and 4 great stars. To close a great program (in which she sang 5 numbers), she sang "Nessun Dorma"
The audience was on their feet before she finished and the cheers went on and on.

I'm a little behind on the news about this talented young vocalist...but holy crap..she is amazing. I came on youtube looking for some drunken quilty pleasure phantom of the opera music...and saw her sing a couple of those songs..then discovered these AGT pieces...and have been listening to her voice for an hour..it's almost 5am... and I'm sobering up... seems weird to say about a 10 year old singer..but ...holy shit, I AM BLOWN AWAY. ...you go Jackie! this shit stirs my heart.

@Gixbit people voted more for michael grimm because he kept throwing out there that he was doing the competition to make his grandparents (who lost everything in hurricane katrina) happy. And people heard that and were like oh he needs this win more than jackie evancho (who, whether she wins or not, is going to be waaay better off than michael grimm in the long run). It'll be like ten years and jackie will be josh groban if he were a girl

Does anyone else not feel ill at seeing a young child "prodigee" exploited by people for the whim at fame and celebrity that their parents might experience? This girl has great potential with her voice; however, allowing the child to experience her childhood, and enrolling her in a proper musical school might be better than parading the poor thing across internationally syndicated television broadcasts. Does anyone else feel that this young girl is being misused by adults?

2. Jackie still attends school regularly and plays with her friends and animals. Again you're suppositions have no basis in fact.
3. Jackie has vocal 'coaching' and has had for a couple of years now. Once again you're assumption that her voice is not being looked after also has no basis in fact.

All I know is. I am ruined for life. I was just listening to Paul Potts sing Ave Maria and I caught myself cringing a couple times. I had to come back here and listen to Jackie sing it the way that it should be sung. What really bothers me is when Paul came out as a singer I really really liked him and I still do.. Bust after listening to Jacke I cant go back and listen to anyone else. The addiction to her voice is remarkable. Pierce isn't kidding when he says this performance is perfection.

After all God gave us free will.. It is just that Jackie's voice is so amazing that at least for me it's a once of a lifetime thing.. People swooned over Pavorati and others.. She's really good, but believe me it remains to be seen if she will ever progress enough to even come close to the likes of Enrico Caruso, Luciano Pavarotti, Martin, Lindi or sopranos like Bartoli, Montserrat Caballé, Renata Tebaldi...or sooo many others.

How many people thought they would be as great as they have become at age 10? The pleasure of sound is defined by each one of us individually.. Jackie is a 'Classical Crossover' singer. Not an Opera singer. And she has no intentions of becoming one in the future. So you're comparisons are useless.
Compare her to Sarah Brightman or Haley Westenra or many of the other 'crossover' singers, and she is right up there with them.
Matter of fact, she was voted #1 on Classical Crossover Uk for 2010.
And she's still #1 so far this year.

I really wish that you would recognise and admit that she owns this voice, not God or an Angel! Many people go on this show-hoping to win, but not concerned if they don't. Many of the GOOD contestants get contracts. Look at Jay Leno's band leader-he lost the battle, but he really won the war .
