@burnesbsn But this video shouldn't be a "joke" - ;) Obviously, you're just getting a feel for the dulcian - but you've got good bassoon chops, and I think you'll be fine.
Very nice dulcian - is that an Eric Moulder instrument? I play on a custom-ornamented dulcian by Leslie Ross...and LOVE it... she also recommends inner-scrape reeds for her instruments, but it can sometimes do well with others. Your instrument as a good core to the sound, and should be great once you get the hang of it all. :) Nice job on the Bertoli...you'll get there. :)
Yes you are right is is a dulcian (german) curtal (english). The english name originated before the german version. I was trying to add satire by using the heckel. Heckels have lots of different options for every key and this only has 2 keys in total.
Yes it is an Eric moulder. I havnt played it since lol. Please see my video of bertoli on the normal german system bassoon.
