Thats a servo motor running a gear multiplier to increase range of motion from +- 90 deg to +- 180 deg. Thats old sk0ol. GWS has some ready to go that are +- 180 deg. Look for GWS sail winch servos.
Hey this system used a gear multiplier to allow the 90 deg rotation from the servo to rotate the driven gear 360 deg. This is no longer necessary if you simply switch to a 360 deg rotation (180 left 180 right) sail winch servo. Simply substitute the pan servo for a GWS S125 1T. It is smooth and allows 360 view. It is quite a bit bigger but greatly improves durability and performance.
Not sure where to ask this question so hopefully someone here can help. I purchased a 900mhz plug and play package with a fpvcam480. I attached seperate 11.1 2200ma batteries to the transmitter and receiver. I've got leds on both units. I'm on channel 1 on both units and the cam voltage switch is correct. I get a mostly green screen with static sounds that change with transmitter movement, but no picture. I've tried different tvs and channel selections. Any ideas?
This design is some what difficult to build. I no longer use this system Instead I switched to a GWS sail winch servo. It works exactly like this one except its very smooth and all self contained (the servo allows +- 180 deg rotation) The only downside is it weights about twice as much (about 2.5 oz) But its very robust and smooth...check em out (GWS sail winch servo)
@3rflyingcom i seen that it helps but i realy need a good websight or tutorial so i can make the servo work via infra red or radio or just by a joystick
You could use those flap rolling buttons, on a computer transmitter, where you twist the knobs for like say flaps, or maybe trim on blade pitch.. i dont know maybe it could work like a custom mixing setup.
Hey. i have bought that system and i was just woundering about how you make the servos move on you radio, i have a spektrum 6 and how do i connect in det reciver on the plane i have 4 channel free but it is f.ex
I have the pan connected to the rudder and tilt connected to a flap wheel that I roll with a finger the more I roll it the more tilt i get. roll it left for down and roll it right for up. Not sure if the spektrum has any wheels on it.
Good luck getting your FPV 2.4ghz feed to work with spektrum's 2.4ghz spread.
Hah, don't bother. It was back when iw as obsessed with robotics. the mechanics are simple enough in theory, i suppose, just need to get the parts and sit down.
where did you get that motor ? and what its called ?

Hey mate, this is exactly what i need, can you email me some of the details like what parts ect so i can build?
Cheers

@3rflyingcom thanks dude i just bought a wireless camera and i wanted to move it around with a servo but thanks for the gws sail winch servo

@charliedj23
If you look at my other videos you'll see one called "3 joystick futaba 9c".
You can see the GWS sail winch pan/tilt system in use on that video

@charliedj23
Oh I though you were trying to build a pan/tilt gimbals for the camera not a control system for the gimbals.

@3rflyingcom lol im trying to build all of it or just buy it

@3rflyingcom i was thinking of a helicopter,rc car or mabe just fixed on the wall

I'd like to know how to build it!

hi, just wondering where you got your camera from?? Is it specifically a robot camera or a webcam?? wanting to make something similar

I use the flap knob for tilt and rudder for pan

Hey thx for the response, i dont have any wheel on my radio, so that i can get som problem with..
I have bought the 1.3 ghz 300 set so it shall not be any disturbence between radio and video transmitting.
Espenrc 3 years ago
Oh thats great you should be ready to go. I guess you could hook the tilt to a 3 way switch but having the wheel really makes it nice.

not to make you feel but i had it in like 2 hrs. If you want I would be more than happy to tell you exactly how to build it

would really appreciate your offer for instructions on how to build control. Thanks! Dinghycam
