i wrecked 96 trans am a few years back and i went airborne, my front bumper drug along the ground while i was in the air but i was spinning so there was no force on the seatbelt and airbags deployed b4 the rest of the car hit the ground, bumper had no paint removed and wasnt mis-shapen so that tells you there wanst much force applied to it. also ive heard of a persons airbag go off in a ford ranger just from hitting a bump while driving down the road.

I'm not sure about this Mercedes, but on most cars made after 1997 the SRS (suplemental restraint system, or airbags) is electronically disengaged when the vehicle is moving slower than 30 mph. This car wasn't moving at all. Also, most modern cars need at least two crash sensors to identify a collision before deploring the airbags.  Looks like this one is fake.

I'm been in a head on collision in an older Mercedes without airbags. The combined speed was at least 70MPH. I was absolutely fine save for some seatbelt burn and a cleanly broken arm due to holding on to the steering wheel too tight. I also hit a wall while hydroplaning going around 65ish in a Mercedes with airbags and they didn't deploy. There wasn't even seatbelt burn in that accident. I wasn't even sore the next day.

I think it's fake, too. Besides that, Mercedes aren't that stupid.
