  • Re: The People's History, a friend of mine was lucky enough to be Howard Zinn's teaching assistant the year before he retired. He made a huge impression on my friend.

I was also confused by the necessity of an actual death of Jesus for an allegorical sin in the Garden of Eden.

Do you think Wittgenstein is too technical for a casual reader?

    Thank you very much!

  • @Barklord man... DG is the real thing... prizes for poetry and philosophy. How cool! I think this is wonderful when this happens on the Internet. I am used to the crazies...lol. Nice tag BL.... nice one :).

  • @Barklord I think that if a person reads a short introduction to Wittgenstein and then, say, reads Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus and Philosophical Investigations, they should be fine.

Your friend was fortunate to work so closely with Zinn. I never corresponded with him or interviewed him for my radio program--a real mistake on my part. One of many, actually. :)

  • Oh man... it is DG! DAM... looking cool old chap!

  • @TheWisemonkey8 Oh, thanks. My wife likes me a lot better now that I cut all my hair off. :)
